They match up with us pretty well. Hopefully Kobe can contain Gordon.

FEED THE POST. Let Drew take full advantage of his height and give Kobe some time to rest the groin injury. Even if he refuses to sit out, we don't have to rely so heavily on him...now's the time for Mr. Andrew Bynum to earn the start of that $12 Million contract.
Thank you, Phil.

Last year we played Detroit on 11/14, their starting line-up was:

Iverson - Hamilton - Prince - R. Wallace - Kwame.

4 aren't active (2 are injured... 2 aren't on the team, 1 isn't on any team...and it ain't Kwame  )
Thank you, Phil.

The Pistons don't have an inside presence, and Ben.W is way past his prime plus too damn small to defend Drew. Kwame will see some big minutes, last time he did well. The Lakers need to put their stamp on this game from the defensive end.

I'm so sick and tired of fan bases thinking that it's "fast" or "quick" guards that kill the Lakers, while it may hold weight that they have success I beg to differ and say look at the teams record against these team and tell me who's coming out on top?

It's just like when we had "that" dominate center and the hype then was we got killed at power forward, I was like so what. What we had at the 5 NOBODY had period, same goes for the 2 spot nobody has a Kobe period.

This whole guard stigma has to do more with how the Lakers are scheming on defending those guys, It's not like they're flying to the basket every single possession. And it's not like they're out there breaking ankles.

The scheme to defense this type of guard is simple, you bump him up the floor and trap when feasible. Think about it, most of these so called "Laker killing" guards are short in size so why don't Phil use the same tactic he used on Magic in the 91' Finals? He had Pippin bump, clutch and harass Magic for 94 feet up the floor.

And Magic wasn't fast but Phil went to that defense because Magic could easily see over the top of the defense. The same tactic would work on a small guard because he can't see over the top thus causing him to probably quickly get rid of the ball...........this is where you trap if Shannon or Fish can lead him into it.

We have a more than capable defender in Shannon to carry the job out, I not against Fish starting but Phil has to learn to use him as a specialist. Brown has enough foot speed to at least shadow them a good distance up the floor. And even though the Laker main defensive scheme is to clog the paint, Kobe and Artest have enough speed to trap on the perimeter before funneling him into Bynum.

This will eat into teams possessions on the 24 second clock, and when you trap effectively in basketball you make teams readjust to it and do things differently on offense.

Tayshaun's traveling with the team on their 4 game trip but will likely be out with a ruptured disc in his back.

RIP's out with sprained ankle.
Thank you, Phil.

^^ hey deep. is there a way you could send your small PG-defending advice to Phil and the coaching staff? I don't think they'll understand for a few weeks unless they read the post.

No Tayshaun and Rip? Ok, if we lose to these guys without those two then Mitch HAS to do something about the bench.

I think Bynum will go off in this game...

What worries me is which Bynum ;)

Will Bynum career high anyone?

RIP and BG are way too small for Kobe in the post and Ben is too small for how Bynum plays, we need to murder this team down low, simple as that.

I don't want to see gimpy Kobe tonight. He did too much to early which hurt him and also his teammates. Time to play Team D and O.
