Iverson - the closer!
Do you guys think we should sign AI to be our 4th quarter closer? I think he can help our scoring issues late in games. With Gordon out we need backcourt help. Waive Skinner to make a roster spot.

In less than 2 weeks (including NO training Camp) A.I. had a 4 year old American Girl style melt down.
Can u really see A.I & Dummme co-existing?
If I want a Me, Me, Me, Me player, I would listen to an Italian opera instead (Me me me me!)

Re: Iverson - the closer!
Gordon should be back in a couple of games or so. Iverson already told Dunleavy that he was going to win the starting spot over Gordon if we did sign him. He complained after 1 game in Memphis. We don't really need to add any more drama to this team. If he were content with being a team-oriented role player off the bench, then sure. The thing is pretty much every other team would have interest in him too if that were the case.

No thanks, this is exactly why we didn't bring him in the during the off-season. He won't accept a role any less than being the man. If Rush can play consistently like he did against OKC we won't have to worry about the back SG position once EJ comes back.
We still need help at SF though. I'm not liking Rasual or Al at all this year.

Really? i like them both, i think they both just need to improve on being smart players and there shot selection
i may be completely wrong though cos i cant watch full games, but thats what it seems like to me.

Well, I'm not liking how they're playing, but I still like them.

Shot selection is the biggest reason though. Neither of them have been shooting well or have been taking good shots. Rasual has missed some crucial FTs in specific games too. Al has been playing a bit better the past couple games at least.
Either way, AI is not needed here unless he is willing to be nothing more than a role player. Based on his time in DET(although it's not entirely his fault) and MEM(which was entirely his fault) won't happen.

Re: Iverson - the closer!
Is Gordon the type of player to pout or regress if Iveson did start infront of him if he's still playing 30 plus minutes a night? EJ is a professional, he will thrive no matter what environment he is in. Let Iverson start and limit him to 25 minutes a night and make the 3 guard rotation consist of Baron/Iveson/Gordon. The team is much worse defensively with Bassy on the court anyway. This team is so thin in the backcourt and with Butler struggling so mcuh, you have to consider Iverson. If Gordon is comfortable with coming off the bench, then what is there to lose? Chemistry? Yeah, right.

With rush out for the season, we need another guard with experience. AI would work and he probably won't start but he'll finish games.

Re: Iverson - the closer!
Why do people want to bring in Iverson?
This would take away minutes from EJ and Iverson hast just shown again that he's not good for any team out there.
I'd rather bring in a guy like Antonio Daniels, who can play both guard positions and who's also a great team guy.
Other then that, there are also guys like Rashad MacCants, Gerald Green, Morris Almond or Desmond Mason who could be signed and help some.

Those are some nice backup alternatives.

I want AI despite all his issues because HE HAS HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He won't let his team not give 100% every night.

Re: Iverson - the closer!
I'd like to see Iverson on this team. He can start over Davis, or Gordon. Either way they can share 30 min each, and would be more productive.
We dont need 2-3 guys who can score 20 points. We need a guy who can drop 40 to win us the game. There is no player on this team who can do that and yet AI is the perfect guy, despite the chemistry problems he would bring with. Like we ever had chemistry on this team except for one season with Cassell and Brand.

A.I. would want to be playing at least 30mpg and be in the starting line up.
The Spurs started out with Bowen instead of Ginobili because they wanted to start out with their best defensive line-up. Imagine the carnage if we would have Iverson.
I think it's time for the Clippers to go to the play-offs. Blake Griffin, injured already. It seems bad karma.

Re: Iverson - the closer!
IF we DIDN'T have a great young SG in Eric Gordon, then I'd be all for signing AI as a starter on a 1-year deal. He is only 2 years removed from one of his best seasons statistically (high PPG and high FG%).
But we DO have Eric Gordon, so it makes no sense whatsoever to sign AI given his desire for a starting role. There's little to no point in benching Gordon to bring in AI, the minutes are much better spent on Gordon.
