Finally some news on Tony Allen

Post#1 » by return2glory » Tue Nov 17, 2009 10:53 am

Three weeks into the season, and still no talks of Tony Allen until today. Tony Allen practiced on Monday and played with the 2nd unit. Tony Allen can help this team, even if he plays 8-10 minutes a game. J.R. Giddens has shown he is very timid on the court in limited minutes. Doc doesn't feel comfortable at playing Giddens at all. So it's getting time for TA again. I hope he can stay healthy and contribute a little to this team.

I like TA but Nic would be a more useful player for us.

I'd like to see what TA can do with Daniels handling the ball. Lord knows we could use his perimeter defense.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

Tony Allen is horrible, I hope we just cut him or get some team to take a 2nd rounder for him.

Trade him for a bag of practice balls.

That's not a bad thought. Having Marquis Daniels gives us the luxury of playing TA and House with him. I think this could work.

I'd *give* the other team that bag WITH TA just to get rid of him...

How is TA getting 8-10 mpg over Pierce, Allen, Daniels and House? I think he could help the team, too, but he'll never get the chance. He only played half of last season, none this year, and he's being name-dropped in trade proposals. I think the writing is on the wall...It's like saying Joey Graham helps the Nuggets. Yeah, sure, they're doing fine with him but, couldn't they do better?

TA could totally help this team...by being traded!

I'd honestly take Justin Reed back instead of TA at this point. I've never seen a player peak in his rookie season and get worse every consecutive year.

Lot of Tony Allen haters out there. The guy was one of our best players off the bench last season before we got Marbury. He is an upgrade over Giddens and Walker. It's too bad he can't stay healthy. He makes Bill Walton look like a durable player.

It's time for The C's and Tony Allen to move on and part ways. I hope Nocioni is brought in to play some 3 against bigger SFs and minutes at the 4 if we want to go with a smaller lineup, just as we did with Posey. This will also allow Marquis to play the 2, where he can abuse smaller guards on him, which we have not seen as much as I hoped we would when acquiring him.

He was our best bench guy (and I even said this at the time) last year...for about 2 months. By December he was back to being his sucky thing...and what does that tell you about our bench last year if TA was at one point considered the best on it?

ship him and giddens somewhere, anywhere. We do not need three sucky sg anymore than we need a hole in the middle of td arena.
Sure at one point T.Allen played awesome d then he broke everything that could break and in the mean time he lost his damn mind, and does stupid poo.
Daniels and House are not getting budged with their playing time at that spot, so trade for a SF. and lose the bonehead and the timid little tag along. Even if that take scal to do it I have a high opinion of scal though, just wished he was about 10% more talented. I'd honestly like scal plus 10% I wouldn't trade him if that were the case

^Agreed, as lousy as Scal is, I vastly prefer to see him on the floor compared to the alternatives (JR or TA)...ship their ass out of town, even if it's for two foot-long Italian subs from Subway...I'd call that a lopsided deal in the Celtics favor!
