OT: Jameer out for at least a month.......

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Tue Nov 17, 2009 9:55 pm

Veteran Jason Williams, the point guard on Miami's NBA Championship team of 2006, will become a starter once again with a serious contender. The Orlando Magic announced Tuesday that All-Star Jameer Nelson will undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks.

Wait a minute, Jameer "MVP" Nelson? The guy who is as important to his team as KG is to the Celtics (which is ALL we heard last year)...??
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I hate to see any player get injured and i like the way Jameer plays. It could benefit us, but with their roster i doubt it. Either way a shame and i hope he comes back healthy...

Great, now if we beat the magic we're gonna get the "our all star pg was injured" sob story. Looking forward to that.

I think the main point of bringing up that Jameer Nelson didn't play was not to say that he and Garnett are of equal value to their teams, because we know that isn't true. The point is that many Celtic fans were using KG's injury to imply that that series or the Playoffs in its entirety was a farce. Jameer Nelson is no Kevin Garnett, but he isn't a slouch either. Whether or not you consider him a one hit wonder All Star is irrelevant. He is still a VERY good player who the Magic were missing during that time. Because of that, there are way too many factors, variables, hypotheticals, and what-ifs to consider for anyone to consider that series victory null and void because of KG's absence.

Back on topic, it's pretty annoying that the Magic just can't catch a break. I think they've been the most injury riddled team to start this season. We haven't played a single game with out supposed starting lineup yet. Just have to roll with the punches I guess.

I know, and I wasn't using KG's injury as an excuse last year, but a LOT of Magic fans were on here last year equating the two, which I think was ridiculous...

Still, tough loss for ORL, the kid can't seem to stay healthy...

I find it funny how the 3 of the 4 elite teams have had major injury problems and the one that didn't still couldn't win it all. Last year should have been CLE's year.

Hopefully this year ALL of the top teams will be healthy come playoff time.
