Nash atop the MVP race and Channing 2nd in MIP behind Brooks, not bad.

No way Nash wins MVP even if the Suns are number 1 in the league and Nash is putting up 20/12 unfortunately

That said this only reflects how amazing we've been so far lets keep it up

If he keeps playing the way he has on both offense and defense and doesn't get win it than it might be the biggest robbery since Marcus Bank's contract....

Damn, Brandon Jennings sitting at 9 in the MVP race, and Brendan Haywood sitting at 2 for defensive player of the year. That is crazy.

Please man. You all can't be seriously wanting Nash to win a 3rd MVP!! That's outrageous company to put him in for a man who has never lead his team to the Finals.

Unless we make it to the Finals this year......

If the Suns are in the 2nd Round, which is when I think MVP's and stuff are given out, and looking like they might advance, there is a high chance that Nash will win MVP. Mark my words, if anyone is capable of a three-peat, it's Mr.Nash.

That wasn't my question though. Do you honestly WANT him to win a 3rd MVP? I sure don't and I'm sure Nash doesn't want the added attention either.

Expectations would have to be extremely high for this team going into the playoffs for that to happen. Like a legit shot to actually make the Finals or even upset the Lakers. Other then that, none of the voters in their right minds would select Nash to win a 3rd MVP.

Shuttlesworth man just like the other thread where this was discussed, my thought is how can you come out and say you DON'T WANT nash to win an MVP? That's odd in my book. Sure we haven't won a title here but look at what he has done to this team and to every single player who has stood beside him on the court? AND, who the hell signs the extension he signed this season?? That right there is commitment. He is saying, I will do everything in my power to bring a title to the Valley. And that, in my book, is all it takes to win an MVP.

Multiple 20 point, 20 assist nights don't hurt either ;)

I agree. Nash doesn't need another MVP. I wouldn't even celebrate it for more then a minute if he did. The fact that he is playing at that level is great, and if he earns it then give it to him.

But I like the Suns as the shocker team who's leader is under the radar. Right now he's getting a ton of respect because everyone said he was on the way down and the Suns were finished. Lets leave it there and continue to shock the league!

That's a good point. Nash is working his ass off to make a potentially grim situation into a great situation. He could've gone into free agency and sign with a title contender, but instead he chose to stay here and make this team a long shot title contender. Respect that.

He's raised his level of play from last year and is steering the ship of this team. His extension looks like a steal. He's made this team great and he's made it so the Suns will probably be able to re-sign Amar'e if they want. He's made Channing, Lou and Dudley the players they are right now, and he's made J-Rich look like a top outside shooter in this league. J-Rich was already really good but Nash is spoon feeding him a huge amount of wide open shots!

With Amar'e pounding it inside, Hill working in the mid range and Dudley, Barbosa, J-Rich, Channing and Nash raining threes and the zoo crew coming off the bench and getting tough this team has a shot to be something great. It's all made possible by Nash. He makes everyone play a role and play that role better then they possibly could without him.

Win a championship this year!! Give Nash his 3rd MVP next year! :P

Seriously though man, It just puts him in an unbelievable category to have won 3 MVP's but never won even a conference championship.

Give it to Kobe again and let us stomp their asses on the way to Finals. :D I guarantee Nash could care less if he won another MVP.

Yeah I definitely see both of your point, and it seems like a large part of your logic there is basically not to jinx him or us. I respect that. I just personally get so excited about any awards, even when we give out the Majerle Hustle Award.

PLUS, one of my best friends is a Laker fan (I know, how can I be a true Suns fan and like a Laker fan) and each MVP gives me 365 days of nonstop s#$# talking - that, of course, because I don't exactly have rings to back up my crap talk.

Damn right I would love to see Nash win his 3rd MVP.

(1) because he IS playing like 1.
(2) To see all the hater's just whinge and moan , and lose sleep (it seems like they do). Nothing better to see them lose more sleep and stress over someone elses accomplishments.
(3) So fans can use Nash's name when mentioning Magic, Bird, Jordan etc.. and to see more fans lose it and just moan about it.

But, I do hope, SUNS go all the way IF Nash wins his 3rd MVP. or even if he doesnt hehe.

If he wins the MVP this year, it more than guarantee's Amar'e staying with us, and we will improve in the off season, meaning that the expectations next year may be high, but we would probably deliver considering how teams would change league wide.

It's exciting to think that this team could possibly improve to be a championship caliber team again this year.

We should have a good view of how this team will perform come the All-Star break.

I'm predicting 3 all-stars again this year.

Nash/J-Rich/Amare

Obviously not all as starters, but I think they'll all make it to Dallas this year.

Screw the regular season MVP - he's got two of those. I want Nash to win a Finals MVP trophy.

If Nash won the MVP, it'd be a sign we were not going to go deep in the playoffs, for two reasons:

1. He would be almost totally spent physically by the end of the season.

2. More importantly, the offense would be too reliant on his creation which good teams like Spurs could deny. Since we wouldn't have worked on more alternatives like Amare posting up high- or low-post often enough, we would follow DA's footprint and fail in WCF at the latest.

For this team to succeed, Nash has to reduce ball handling while developing viable alternatives particualrly around Amare throughout the season, for better preparation for postseason both physically and strategically. If winning a title was more important for Nash and the franchise, that is.
