IDK how Marvin turned into a poor mans Mo Evan's over one off-season.

I don't mind Zaza and I don't mind Joe Smith...but they are just "eh" at best as a combo.

Last year, you could tell both the Hawks and Heat were such soft teams. A lot of dumb plays from each side and whenever the momentum would swing to the Hawks the Heat would fold and we'd blow them away and vice versa.

This year we have clearly taken the next step, and they have not. They got behind and just started shooting jump shots and putting their heads down just like last year. Whereas our team has clearly shown the ability to respond from adverse situations away from home this season.

The Hawks played well. I wish they would have hit more free throws though. Marvin made some shots late but I'm officially worried. He looks totally out of place with the rest of the team playing at such a high level. He looks even more unsure of himself than he did during his rookie year.

The sad part is that this was one of his better games lately.

smith/Horford with 32 pts and 26 rebounds. They have been really clicking lately.

The Cavs getting punk'd by the Wizards with jamison back. Life is good at the top. :D

good game, good win. Josh and Al get another double double, both guys are going to make a strong push for All Stars. Josh is showing that he could lead the league in rebound if he wanted to.

Marvin is in a funk, Nique needs to talk to him, but still like what Barkley said, when your shot is not working, you need to do other things like play defense and rebound to help your team. Hawks have alot of scorers, maybe Marvin should look into becoming an above average defender like Bowen, Prince and Gerald Wallace, so that when the Hawks face Lebron, Kobe, Melo, Dirk, Peirce,... Marvin can be a guy who can stay in front of them and put a hand in their face.

i think for right now, Marvin should look to simplify the game for himself and just play hard one on one defense, hit wide open 3s, and use up his 6 fouls on the other teams' best player like Bowen, Prince and Gerald Wallace

Just got home and had a few comments.

Loved the rebounding domination. Keep it up.
Good defensive night on Wade.
Noticed Marvin on the floor with the 2nd unit more extensively tonight. I suspect either Woodson figured that Marvin would get a few extra looks that way, but it might be a tryout on a new role for him. Marvin was still with the 1st unit at crunch time, but mainly for his defense.
Josh attempted his first 3 of the year and missed. In his defense it was an end of half 3 that wasn't going to be his shot but Jamal lost the ball and it went straight to Josh.
Came out flat in the 2nd half after dominating the 2nd quarter and that allowed the Heat to mount a run.
Crowd was larger tonight, but not as loud as Monday night's crowd. Maybe game situations never dictated that the crowd get involved, but I didn't feel the energy.

There is one play that we need to dial back some. I speak of the Josh to Bibby lob on the back screen. When they sprung this once every few weeks it seemed to always catch the defense napping and ignited the crowd. Josh and Bibby have been trying to hit this every game (sometimes twice). The result is that the defense is prepared for the play and it is leading to a turnover 90% of the time lately. Too much can go wrong to lob to a PG for a finish beneath the rim. Dial it back some and up the surprise quotient and I bet it goes back to more success more often.

Great win Hawks. We still didnt get much from Crawford and yet dialed up the win. Hopefully Marvin found his shot tonight. It seems that we've gotten to the point where we won't need an a-game from everyone to win, since 1-6 can score 10+ points.

I wish Smoove would quit crying on calls he doesn't get, but him and Horford are just DOMINATING over people bigger then them. O'Neal and Beasley got destroyed tonight.

Lets keep it going against the Rockets!
