Iverson?

Post#1 » by venny » Thu Nov 19, 2009 5:15 pm

If Iverson gets picked up by the Knicks, do you think he'll be worth picking up? He would get the playing time and attention he wants in New York and perhaps avg better numbers.

If the Knicks pick up Iverson I'm pretty sure he's going to start, so yes he's definitely worth picking up...

I'd grab Iverson off of any waiver wire at moment. Try and trade for him as well.

If he goes to the Knicks, he will get back to top 50. Anywhere else, and it's anybody's guess.

I'd wait until there are a few more details. You don't want to drop a solid bench guy if there aren't many options just for a possibility.

I took a big gamble and dropped W. Chandler for him. I think Iverson will get 30+ minutes if the Knicks sign him and I think they will. They might as well have some excitement this season and there is no long term risk. Iverson showed he can still score in the 3 games he played in Memphis. They can probably make the playoffs with him. he's definitely not done. That's what they said about Steve Nash and he's killing it this year already. If Iverson doesn't pan out, I'm going to pick Blake Griffin up until he comes back, which isn't that long now.

you guys are hitting the panic button way early. at least wait for him to get signed before you cut a guy to pick him up.

I'm in a competitive leauge man. You have to take chances like this to win. After losing K. Martin, I need someone to score and I don't need Chandler's stats. I'm crushing in rebounds, blocks and steals and that's where Chandler helps you most. It's all good... if Iverson doesn't pan out then I can pick-up Love, Tyrus or Blake Griffin. They are only 2 weeks way.

i'm liking the way you think creative!
if you have someone that is worthy of dropping, might as well drop them for Iverson, and if Iverson doesn't sign with a team in a week, then you can resort to Love/Griffin!

Looks like he's not going to the Knicks anymore. That's too bad bc I picked him up as well and I don't think he'll be able to put up the stats anywhere else like he could in NY.

Why WOULDN'T the Knicks offer him a contract? They have absolutely nothing to lose.

Know what? I'd advise anyone with A.I. to not drop him just yet. The Knicks passing on him makes SO LITTLE SENSE that I don't quite buy it. Maybe these first reports are bogus?

I'm in the same boat Ashy.

If they lose to the Nets tomorrow, they will sign him.

I already dropped him for S. Curry. I lost my gamble on Iverson but that's ok because Chandler has started slow and I don't really need his stats anyway. I think the Knicks are the only situation that Iverson would have put up impressive #'s in. I think Curry is going to start getting consistent minutes since S. Jax is gone and Raja is about to have surgery. I also think they will do whatever they can to move Ellis in the near future. All signs point to Curry breaking out a little more now that there is less competition. I also have Gallinari but I couldn't drop him over Chandler since he's such a 3pt specialst.

I thought the same thing 'cuz i drafted him and i was pretty pissed that Grizzlies didn't start him and this happened but I remembered that they were saving saving up for Lebron or something so it kinda makes sense why they didn't. And besides even if AI were to sign with the Knicks, he wouldn't really make a lot of difference.
