Wolves/OKC

Post#1 » by Esohny » Fri Nov 20, 2009 11:27 pm

I had a thought from the big man trade discussion.

What about Pekovic as the centerpiece in a trade for Jeff Green and/or Harden from OKC? Thabo has sort of taken over the starting SG spot and gotten an extension, and Jeff Green plays out of position because Durant has the SF spot locked down. OKC still needs front court help, specifically at center, and Pekovic certainly gives them a post presence. I'd love either Green or Harden on the Wolves.

Maybe something like

Gomes + Pekovic for either Green or Harden.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I don't see them giving up on either so soon. Green seems quite competent at the PF actually and Harden will turn out well still i think, but too early to give up on a rookie.

Pekovic has to prove on the NBA level first, remember how people talked up Scola and they still didn't respect his game until he got on the NBA court and proved it. Even Rubio, one of the most hyped Euros ever, didn't really get much respect in the draft.

DSW has it right. Pekovic just doesn't have that kind of value. At this point we don't even know if he wants to play in the NBA.

Pekovic is probably worth a mid to late first at most and that's it... nowhere near enough value.

Yea. He probably has similar value as Gasol. Maybe better because he had more draft value (he was a 10-15 prospect but went 2nd do to contract) But I doubt we get a young stud like harden/Green. maybe if we attached Pekovic with an expiring contract for a 26 yr old with a bad contract.
