Rondo for Gilbert Arenas

Post#1 » by mappiah19 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 7:55 pm

I'm in a 12 team league and I'm quite heavy with PG's. Apart from Granger, I do not have a sure-fire scorer and I've been looking for one. I just got offered Gilbert Arenas for my Rajon Rondo. Should I acquire GIlbert?

I think he's definitely what you are looking for in a scorer but I'm still deathly scred of Gil this year. I know he's been fine so far but I have to imagine that he is going to go down with soreness or a more serious ailment at some point. You don't miss two seasons with those knee injuries and come back for a full season. I'd look to move him for a young, dominant SG more like Joe Johnson if you can work out a package.

Yea I agree with you about Gilbert's knee. I will do my research on Gilbert but I think I'm going to reject the offer. Probably ask for more in a package.

I would take it all day. Gil's shaking off cobwebs but he's going to go off this season. he'll score more than Rondo, hit more threes, slightly better FT%, and is just way more fun to watch. I'd pull the trigger.

I'm still thinking through the deal. Gilberts assists will increase with Jamison back in action.

I just traded Gilbert in my roto league bc he's cancerous in FG% and TO's and pretty bad in FT% as well. I got Devin Harris in return expecting his return this Saturday. If you play in a league where TO's don't count or in a H2H league where you play with a big lineup where his FG% won't kill you I'd say do it. But I took Harris for him straight up bc he's killing me in 2 categories in my roto league.

In my league FG%, FT%, and TO's count

No way, I'd take Rondo in a heartbeat.

If you need points, I guess this trade is fine but it's really up to you to take the risk.. but if i were you, I'd try to look for a more safer trade if its possible

Thank you all for the advice. I'm still not sure if I will pull the trigger.
