TOs just killed us. Evans' almost triple double effort almost won it for us. But oh well, Houston is next tomorrow.

There's a reason why we keep trying to trade for a center..

You really gotta love the toughness and effort this team plays with. Love the fact that they fought til the end and didn't quit! This team really has to stop turning the ball over so much, if we do that we win tonight!

Yeah, I have the same problem.

They were broadcasting the OKC/WSH game on the SAC/DAL slot in the broadband. Which is unfortunate for the people who missed the game and was expecting to watch the replay.

*I had to find a stream over the internet to bypass this. I was very piss about this problem*

Certainly not for a lack of talent and potential. C'mon, everybody was licking Spencers butt after he blew up a few games in a row, the fact is, what the heck do you want a guy to do when he gets 6 shots in a game!? Score 25!? He may very well not fit Westphals vision for how this team should play and that could possibly be addressed at some point but I for one think he's being more than a tad under utilized. We go to JT in the post more than Spencer and if there is any hope for either respective to what they might be able to develop into it should be the other way around. Oh yeah, he's freaking 21 years old!!! If we were talking about a 27 year old young-ish vet it would be a different story all together.

I agree that we should go to Spencer a bit more. The problems tonight were clearly turnovers and to a lesser extent, rebounds (offensive rebounds--which is the only relevant rebounding stat when comparing teams in a given game). Spencer rebounded pretty well per minute (on pace for 9 rebounds if he had played 36 minutes). The problem is the guy he should have been boxing out got 16 rebounds in 30 minutes, and the Mavs had 6 more offensive rebounds than us--that's six more possessions. If that were even, hell, we could have committed even another turnover or two and still won.

But yeah, the frustrating and encouraging thing about this game is that we could have played much better, and we were so close to winning. Better rebounding could have helped, but obviously the turnovers are the more consistent problem for this team. And just one of two fewer errant dribbles/passes clearly into traffic by Beno, or really clear "rookie" passes by Omri, or the variety of turnovers committed by Tyreke (although to be fair two of his TO's--the non-travel in the first half and the slip on the ground near the end were fluke turnovers), and this is a very different game.

For me, this has been kind of a common comment in recent games. This team is playing so much better than expected, and they still clearly can be playing so much better than they are.

i like to see more beno and spencer on the pick and roll... i think they got chemistry..one thing spencer musnt do is to shoot the 3... he hasnt made a single 3 point this season and he keeps jacking it up..good thing this game he didnt take those 3 point shots but still he should stay aggressive...

Spencer is so down in the dumps with his confidence. You can tell just by his body language on the court, his head is always down and hes not running up and down the court yelling like he used to.

Spencer needs a good game more than any other King at this point. A confident Spencer will make this team a lot better because he is our best low post scorer.

Spencer's confidence probably would have been boosted had he not pissed off his coach this summer by blowing off summer league.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Hopefully Evans takes advantage of the little size Mavs.

Evans stat line. 22/11rebs/8asts

JT 25/20
Beno 12/11asts
K9 8/9
Hawes gets out of the shooting slump....6 threes

For the Mavs:

Yyyyyyup.

Still, getting that confidence back up has got to be a priority for this team. Spencer still does have a ton of talent. But I think part of the ultimate thing with him is that he still has to mature both mentally and physically.

I'm honestly not against the idea of moving him back to the bench. That way we could run things through him more off the bench (a circumstance where he has shown to be more effective in the past), it would give us some much needed size off the bench, and maybe it would motivate him again the way it seemed to early on.
