Re: Malik Allen
Yep. This team is being held back by Karl so badly. NBA finals last year, if he wasn't coaching the team. LA went on their runs when he kept AC in there. Who knows how better the Nuggets could have done in previous years. This year he has cost the team two games by playing Allen over Balkman. Another game by playing AC went he shouldn't have.
Seriously, the FO has to make some personal moves or fire the coach. I know Karl is here to stay, so the FO has to use some intelligence and Karl-proof the team.

Allen and AC are both completely useless and needs to be parked on the bench unless its garbage time

A.C., Petro, Malik Allen, 2nd rounder for Sean Williams & Jarvis Hayes. Please complete this on Dec. 15
For the sake of the team... and to take away bad options from George Karl

We don't agree on much, but that is a deal I could get behind.

Re: Malik Allen
^You guys would regret that trade, Williams is probably on par with Reggie Evans as far as having the worst pair of hands in the L.
Jarvis Hayes is nice... but that doesn't justify the trade. Besides, we have Afflalo and J.R. who are already doing what Hayes does.
The reason Allen looks like trash is simply, his playing time. Who on earth can play well when he only gets in during garbage time, and all of a sudden gets in the second quarter when team is trailing and hoping to catch up?
Allen is a very good mid-range shooter, a good pick and roll player, a very good help defender, and a pretty good IQ player and locker room veteran. Those combined vs. William's lows, this trade should not even be brought up.
The real problem with Malik Allen is not him, but it's Karl's playing time of him. If he was consistently in the rotation, he'd be producing just fine for us, in fact, we'd probably not worry about trading for a big man.

Re: Malik Allen
I don't have a problem with getting any player on the roster some sort of regular minutes ....even Malik at 5 a game, but it was a disaster to see him on the floor during that entire run by the Clips. I don't believe Malik's distribution of minutes is more important than this team though. If he can't be a survivor and use what's he's had so far to not be part of the worst run all year, not sure he deserves regular minutes or any minutes. He needs to at least be a survivor until the minute gods figure that all out.
There have got to be ways to slip our bench guys in there unnoticeably at the very least until they've had regular minutes. Tht 2nd quarter slippage was no good.

I love this trade.
Sean Williams is better than Petro and Allen as the 3rd big; and the fact that AC is gone helps.
Jarvis Hayes is also a veteran and a decent 3pt shooter.

The Nuggets just need a 4th big man that can contribute when his number is called. Against the Hawks, kmart was out and the hawks mopped the floor with us. Against the clippers the birdman was out, and the clippers mopped the floor with us. The nuggets are very thin up front. End of story.

hehe let's start a petition and mail it in to the Front Office. I'd feel better doing that than hoping AC can't go due to injury.

Re: Malik Allen
I'm sorry Allen at his best was never better then a 4th big, now that he has declined he is not good enough to be on an NBA roster. He showed how bad he was last year in Milwaukee where both Geico and Gadzuric earned more stats and minutes for a team that was dying for a solid big after Bogut went down for the year. I guess we thought we could turn him around but he should have never been considered more then a future trade piece as an expiring. I would have rather kept Sharpe and Weems, at least then we could have sold them as potential in a deal for a better player.

Re: Malik Allen
Yeah, Reb, but that's neither here nor there. What can we do now to get another backup BIG that can help this team?
Anyone think that Houston would give up Scola for a 2nd, Balkman, and Malik Allen? Hell, Balkman doesn't get PT here anyways. He's a decent player, but I don't know exactly how valuable Scola is to Houston - I just know he can play the game at a fairly high level. He would be a perfect addition unless we could get a Gasol/Noah/Pryzbilla on the cheap. And I don't see it happening.

Re: Malik Allen
I think that Houston is more then happy with Scola, and their entire team outside of McGrady for that matter, hell missing your two best players and playing above 500 ball is nothing to be ashamed or worried about.

Re: Malik Allen
Anyone cosign with me on this trade?
Ike Diogu for Anthony Carter.
Diogu is EXACTLY what we need. A guy who can play in the paint, hit a 15ftr, and play fairly solid defense off the bench. I said a long time ago that we should have targeted him in F/A, but if he's available, let's make the move.
Then pick up Iverson as a third PG for the playoff run LOL

At this point Iverson would be a second SG, if not a first. Probably second because of JR's upside.
I might go for Diogu, but it wouldn't be for the 15 footer.

Didn't the Hornets pick up Diogu? I thought I saw him on their roster but I could be wrong.

I think the Hornets plan to use Diogu when he's healthy.
AC would be buried behind CP3 and Collision.... and don't forget, George Karl is not their coach.

Re: Malik Allen
how bout melo for mardy collins lol
no really
but I think if the nuggets could trade for Jason Maxiell.
I think someone like Morris Peterson/Jarvis Hayes could be good too, the nuggets need shooters off the bench not like Balkman, Graham, and Allen

The Nuggets could probably get Jason Smith from the Sixers for next to nothing these days. He's a better player than Williams and a local to boot.
