LB on the biggest difference between D'Antoni and Gentry: "Gentry works a lot on defense. D'Antoni never worked on the defense."
I think this sums up the Duhtoni era...
Thoughts?

I wonder how that question came up![]()
Anyway I'm not surprised, and this is comming from Barbosa who basically is Duhhtoni's adopted son and teachers pet when he was here. I thought before Gentry wasn't much better than Duhhtoni, I knew he was a little bit but after reading this and watching the first 12 games into the season he does have this team playing hard and solid defense. I just wonder what caused Barbosa to say this though

Fine by me, guess that happens when you speak the truth but hey don't take my opinion for it. A prominent Suns player and probably the guy that looked up most to Duhtoni is even saying it. I just thought it would be funny to see how the Duhtoni apologists tried to spin this one saying he does teach defense or something

Who the hell are you to declare truth? Did you know that the 2005-2006 Suns were a top 10 defense before Kurt Thomas went down? Stop spewing crap out of your dumbass, please.

Get over it; or at least stop bringing it up 5 times a week. It's played out and old and has just about no relevance to anything involving the Suns at this point. We run a similar style to his with a little more defensive focus. Got it, good, great. Thanks. Next topic.

I don't know what their ranking was in 05-06 but as you say if they were a solid defensive team it wasn't because of him but because of the individual players. I'm pretty sure there are past articles saying he never taught defense in practice. Look though, Barbosa is saying he didn't teach defense, Amare said it last year, Kerr said he wanted him to teach defense and Suns fans with enough logic can see through it also...

Uh, if you're proclaiming it as "truth", then wouldn't I HAVE to listen to you? That's usually how it works.
Of course you don't know. And a team doesnt play top 10 D if its "just players". If you know a freakin' shred about anything, you'd know that our problem under D'Antoni teams had always been rebounding more than defense itself. Of course, you don't realize it.
But seriously, why do you keep bringing up D'Antoni? Can you get the eff off it already? Not surprisingly, you bring up D'Antoni just like your boy Obama brings up Bush in the blame game constantly. Always a scapegoat, never owning up. Get the eff over it already!
Where the hell is the ignore function on this damn board? I've seriously had freakin' enough of you already, and I'm starting to not be shy about it.

Dude why are you trying to make it personal? By the way, I didn't vote for Obama, I voted for Nader. It is clear though you know as much about politics as you do basketball. See I can make it personal also...
Seriously though, this was right on the Suns twitter this isn't some random thing I just brought up. Also as said before, Suns players are saying what I said all along, I'm not trying to prove a point or anything, just wanted to show everyone what a Suns player thinks of his former coach.
Sorry if I'm not a homer like yourself that thinks everything related to the Suns is positive, I'm just a realistic Suns fan. Yeah though there was no need to turn this into a personal attack, if you don't agree say so in a polite way, that's what I do when I disagree with something or someone.
