Raja Bell

Post#1 » by supaflash » Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:19 pm

I wonder if it would be possible to pry him from GS. They don't need him with their youth movement at guard... Ellis, Curry, Morrow, Watson... He has virtually the same contract as Ammo, I wonder if with a little incentive they would do a swap. Perhaps something with Farmar, a pick, or Mbenga. He would be a nice fit IMO. Good, tenacious defender, great spot up shooter, savvy vet. He's a plug and play with Fisher with better defense and finishing. Guy would be perfect in a playoff rotation with Shannon and really shore up our bench, or even push Fish to the bench.

Would you guys give up extra pieces to get him? Opinions?

GS needs bigs pretty bad, as much as I love J Peezy and Mbenga, what about bringing Ronny back, I mean he's getting DNP coaches decisions :/ Ammo, JP, Mbenga, pick for Bell, Turaif?

He played with the injury like 2 nights ago... says a month to many months depending on severity... What a weird injury. But as long as he could be back for the last month of the season and playoffs I'd do it.

Man SKIP Bell and his dirty arse. I would rather have a 10 lottery season than having this piece of garbage in LA.

Makes no sense if we still have Artest and Odom healthy. Kobe isn't sacrificing minutes and he can't slow down the SF's we signed Artest to take care of.

I'm usually one to forgive and forget, but not with this guy. I cringe at the thought of gifting him with a ring.

I was thinking more along the lines of a large PG like Phil loves ala Ron Harper, Shaw... I think he can guard most PGs pretty well.

Yeah he's a little dirty and annoying, but damn you coulda said the same things about Ron Ron before he came here ;)

NOT AT ALL BRAH........... You comparing Ron to Bell is like me comparing a drunk driver who killed his best friend to Charles Manson.

Artest has never went out and intentionally hurt anyone, he's not a D.Bag and he doesnt play dirty. He plays aggressive and he is hot headed but he's not dirty. Bell on the other hand is dirty and the ish he pulled in Phx was very unsportsman like conduct and wayyyyyyyyy below anything Artest has done. So Artest to me shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence with Bell.

The only other people that are on the same level as Bell is Bruce Bowen Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman, Kevin McHale. Those guys were dirty and no doubt about it. You can even throw Karl Malone in there too, but Artest is just dumb at times but he doesnt have ill intent to hurt anybody like these guys did.

Bell is a guard and he fits the triangle profile up to a point. he is not a distributor, but is a good spot up shooter and a good defender. an upgrade from Sasha to say the least. I would give up Ammos and Farmars expiring, Sasha and Maria for Bell.
Brown/Fisher
Kobe/Bell
Artest/Odom
Pau/Odom/Powell
Drew/Pau/Mbenga

The thing is Golden State does not want to trade within the divison, and the only way we get Bell if the Warriors cut him and we sign him when he clears waviers.

Bell would be a really nice fit, but I don't think we can get him for nothing.

Bell doesnt deserve a ring.

Some guys kill you and you gain respect for them. Battier, Posey... soe guys kill you and they are complete jack asses. Bell is in this category.

Uh.... stat reading?

Ronny is out with Knee injury, not because Nellie is giving him DNP-CD. Just like saying Kobe/Gasol got DNP-CD and not understanding why.

Turiaf is liked a BUNCH by GSW,a team leader and nice D. Mbenga + Powell were Warriors, and GSW let them walk. Raja is having wrist surgury done. Not certain to be back at season's end.

Not any way GSW returns Rony to LAL......nada. Raja? Now that you mention...maybe GSW should plan on him for the playoffs?

this is a dead trade... GSw would never give bell ( he might come back depending on the surgery) for Mbenga, farmar and a pick. Besides, what pick does lakers have to offer? Also, Bell is a great leader and just by one game, it got a lot of the warriors back on the same track. And no, we're going youth movement, but Nellie wants some vet to lead. Also, shouldn't you guys be worrying about the tax right now? How about Maggette or Bwright for Gasol? It'll help you guys save and avoid the tax luxury.

Division/Conference trades don't really happen for quality players or value picks. Turiaf is only coming back to LA as a free agent or if he develops a piss poor attitude and produces nothing. None of this is happening anytime soon.

You guys forget, we don't have Turiaf because GS offered him too much money that we couldn't afford just last year. We would have easily signed the guy, but they offered him a little too much and we didn't match it. (The Bench Mob suffers without him more than anything)

Great guy. He can obviously fit in anywhere he goes. Maybe we'll get lucky a few years from now and get him if he hits the open water again. But GS is not giving him up. And if they do, the team he goes to won't. I can guarantee that.

 @ trading Gasol, though. And to save us on luxury tax, as well? Gasol is expiring, Neither Maggette or whomever else, isn't. Contracts have to match up as well before we can trade player for player. Nobody in GS gets close to what Pau gives this team. So we're only "saving money" if we let Gasol walk. A concept we aren't worried about as long as we win.

I know, it's just sarcastic. Anyways, we need Bell a lot more than Lakers needs him. You guys will win the title this year anyways.

why would you want this trash in LA? When he said that Kobe is "pompous and arrogant..." he basically burned his bridge w/ Kobe.
