Random Tidbits:
:-? My game thread motivation is small right now.

:) Carmelo Anthony is first in the NBA in scoring, averaging 30.5 points per game.

:sour: Joakim Noah is first in the NBA in rebounding, averaging 12.6 rebounds per game.

 The Nuggets played really well last night against the Clippers

:cowboy: Megan Fox > the Bulls.

Here's to Megan getting the engine going...

And hopefully Chauncey's ankle feels better.

Too bad we didn't trade Nene for Noah last season...

Give me a big man who says "I'm going to get you 10 rebounds, 2 block shots, some energy points" every night.

It's a shame because Nene is so much more than a 12 and 8 guy, he's a 20 and 10 guy easily. If Paul Millsap (whose body shape and bulk are similar to Nene's) can be a beast in rebounding, why can't Nene be?

I want Nene to grab 10 rebounds tonight or it's a FAIL.

wait, if it was your call...you would have traded Nene for Leon Powe long ago, and wouldn't be able to trade him for noah.

of course Leon Powe is averaging 0/0/0 this season in 0 minutes.

nice work.

You're posting this NOW, of all times, after his past couple games?

He's averaging 19/11/4 with 2 blks and 3.5 stls on 60% shooting over the last two.

Yeah, I'd much rather have Noah.

Personal bias against Noah being a complete moron aside, I don't get it. A slight improvement in rebounding is worth getting worse in essentially every other facet?

J Smitty, round those averages after one week, we've seen (at least I've) too many Nene's outstanding stats over 2-3 game stretch that's common... like how he can put 24 and 16 one game and go 12 and 6 the next game... or go for 12 pts in one quarter and become invisible the rest of the game.

Noah's bar right now is 12 and 12 and the difference is he brings it up every night. My problem with Nene is his bar is at least 18 and 10, but his inconsistencies make him a 13 and 8 guy.

If Noah had the Nene's talent and athleticism, he'd be a Tim Duncan now. Because he does what's he's supposed to do... and Nene does not... at least not to his level of talent. Noah's big man work around the rim, coralling boards, offensive boards and finishing around the rim are basics what big men are supposed to do. Imagine if he had Nene's soft touch and explosiveness on the dribble, he would be downright a beast.

Nene has talent but he lacks Noah's "big man work", the nose and passion for wanting to rebound the ball, desire to play like a true big and finish like a big man in his role, or simply the desire to play like a true big man. That's why when he's willing to mix it up, we have the unstoppable Nene who goes for 26 and 14 and who we rave about and deservedly so, but then the problem is we have the passive Nene who goes for 8 and 5... and this is although 8 and 5 are pretty good numbers for most big men, a drop in a department's production means a drop in the whole system's performance because our system wholly integrates Nene in it. When he drops, we automatically drop... the problem is Nene doesn't seem to think his "off nights" should affect the team and seems to think other guys should pick up the slack.

---

Stars have maybe 10 off nights a year, but not as many off nights as Nene who can be in the 20s or 30s. That's why those averages you showed me are nothing J Smitty because at the end of the week they round back down to 13 and 8.

And that's right, I categorize Nene as a star. If he wasn't a star, if he was a Malik Allen, I wouldn't be so tough on him. I was tough and criticized Melo a lot, but he's great now. Now Melo is great, we're great but it's up to Nene to make us elite. We can't say it's on KMart because he doesn't possess Nene's talent. Again, the problem is Nene doesn't seem to think this is so, or probably the worst is noone in the organization (coach? Assistant coaches? Billups? Melo? KMart? Marlowe, Heck, Steve Hess?) harps on Nene that it's up to him to make us elite.

How coach Karl can live with 6-7 rebound nights from Nene, I will never understand.

Keep incorporating Nene and maybe we'll see some progress. Honestly think the dude is kind of, "No, you go first." - but when it's his turn he is that beast. Coax him out.

As we get farther and farther away from the knee injury and the cancer he went through.....it becomes more ok for him to beast. I know it's kind of a burden to have to bring him out of his shell every game, but the rewards might just be endless with Nene's athleticism.

I'd love to see Chauncey's jumper make an appearance tonight.

Nice effort. Again. If JR or Chauncey don't get hot from outside tonight, I imagine it'll be a long night.

Nice game after the first Q.

Now have some easy games coming up. Would be disappointed if we're not 13-4 by the end of the month.

Complete second half ownage once again. I can't remember how the Memphis game went, but I'm pretty sure we've done this in all of our other home games, as well as the roadie in NJ.

Would be nice if we put in 100% effort the entire game....because then you don't end up with situations like last night against the Clips, where the hole is too big to climb out of.

Inconsistency's been problem for our team. How do we get out of it? Like Billups said "We are everybody's big game now" we gotta approach every game with our top focus level and condition if we want to be one of the elite teams.

Billups will come through! Don't expect him to start declining with his age and stuff yet. Now that Melo /if he keep up his long ball going, we should be ok on sized shooter part/ is focused with belief them two should lead the Nene and other not there yet guys toward next level as season goes. AA Ty will be nursed up along the way pretty good.

If Nene had Noah's relentless efforts on nightly basis and hope he will bring it, would affect our team big. Nene ain't going anywhere, cause there is not any equal value available at this time. only move that should happen is add up 7 footer to slide Nene to 4 spot. With his shooting touch and big beef watching the paint he can slide out and knock some mid range jumpers /gives him more freedom to play the style suits his agility & athletic nature more/ if that 7 footer posts up then we are THERE! I WANT MARC!!!!

lmao you're still bringing that stuff...

J. Noah will say hi at the end of season when he leads the league in rebounding and passion for the game.

But what I do really want is of course not to trade Nene, you seem to want to put those words in my mouth every time, but if we had no choice, do it. Trade Nene for Noah, or Gasol!

:D

Another below par night for Nene... J Smitty come to me when Nene averages those numbers in three straight games or more.

Like I told you, 2 consecutive games of great stats for Nene is almost guaranteed to be followed with a sub-par game. That is why his stats are going to hover around 13 and 8 when it's all said and done.

But while nights like 24 and 16 from Nene help us blow out teams, nights like 6 and 3 against quality teams will cost us games... in the playoffs, losing a game or two is not only "costly". They're the season.
