Houston Trades:
SF: Tracy McGrady
Houston Receives:
SG: Rip Hamilton, C: Kwame Brown, PF: Jason Maxiell
Why for Houston:
Rip is durable 2-guard who will perform his job for the duration of his contract, has championship, and leadership abilites. Kwame is a true C which they lack, he expires after the season, max is a high energy Hustle guy for Depth Purposes.
Houston's Roster:
C: Kwame/Landry/Anderson
PF: Scola/Max/Landry/Cook
SF: Ariza/Battier/Budinger
SG: Rip/Battier/Taylor
PF: Brooks/Lowry/Taylor
Clippers Trade:
C: Chris Kaman, C: Marcus Camby, SF: Rasual Butler
Clippers Receive:
SF: Tracy McGrady
Why for Clippers:
This is all about balancing the team better. T-Mac can be a bit injury prone, but let's be honest so is Kaman. T-Mac is the stud scoring 3 that would fit nicely on this team. If it don't work out, then o well, you get a huge expiring contract to be players in 2010 FA. Similar to the Detroit/AI Expierence. Also there's a wink, wink deal heal where Detroit would be releasing Camby so he could rejoin the Clipse.
Clippers Roster:
C: Camby/Skinner/Novak
PF: Griffin/Thornton/Novak
SF: T-Mac/Thornton/Smith
SG: Gordon/Davis/Rush
PF: Davis/Telfair/Taylor
Detroit Trades:
SG: Rip Hamilton, C: Kwame Brown, PF: Jason Maxiell
Detroit Receives:
C: Chris Kaman, C: Marcus Camby, SF: Rasual Butler
Why for Detroit:
Detroit has a logjam at the 2 with Rip, and Gordon. it would be all good if they weren't both being payed $10mil+ per. Going forward this team needs to have a Scoring Big Man, and Kaman fits the bill. With Big Ben back in old form, theres really no need for Camby, he's just there to match salaries, will be released so he can rejoin the Clips.
Detroit's Roster:
C: Kaman/Wallace/Wilcox
PF: CV/Jerebko/Wallace
SF: Prince/Daye/Jerebko/Summers
SG: Gordon/Stuckey/Daye
PF: Stuckey/Bynum/Atkins
I think the value's pretty equal across the board. Houston may be reluctant to take on the extra salary, Clips might not be interested in addin a scorer like T-mac cuz he takes shots from the younger guys there tryna develop. Detroit comes out the best in my opinion becuz.

Kwame Brown is a scrub so no thanks and T-Macs expiring deal probably has more value than anything we get out of that deal

You must really be Stephen A. Smith if you think thats a good trade.
Then you want us to trade Scola or Landry because we get Maxiell and Kwame? What the f*ck?
And futhermore, this trade isnt even possible because of the roster limits. So we would have to cut two players just to make it happen.

if rips contract wasnt as big... how could it be bad? we get what we want
a defensive center and a non ball dominate guard, while keeping our main guys.. we dont HAVE to ship out Landry/Scola, but Maxiell is a talent himself

Re: Detroit/Houston/Clippers trade
Rip WAS a durable player. He's been in and out the past two seasons w/injuries.
For fun I tried to come up w/matching expiring contracts that could actually help the Rockets. No real reason for Wizards to do,but McGrady,Dorsey,$3mil cash to Wash for Mike Miller,Mike James and Brendan Haywood.

Is Kwame even better than Hayes? I don't think he is.

Who says he is?
He is height.. We still get to keep Hayes.. And he could be the banger we need off the bench

Thats not a bad deal. But that sort of kills any chance of us doing anything in free agency this summer. So I think I would pass.

Re: Detroit/Houston/Clippers trade
We can't take on contracts like Rip or Maxiell. How are we going to keep this team together, if we take on that much long term salary?
Without including McGrady, this team would have to re-sign Scola, Landry, Yao, Lowry, Battier, Hayes, Brooks all are going to need new contracts within the next two seasons. I'd rather be able to re-sign all of those guys then take on an aging Rip Hamiliton and an over paid Maxiell.

Re: Detroit/Houston/Clippers trade
I really don't think we are re-signing Yao. Absolutely nothing in Morey's personality (smart GM) would lead to him re-signing Yao. Yao will elect to take his option but he is out of here in 2011 unless he does something next season that makes it impossible to justify us letting him go. I won't bet on that. Most teams have star players they have to build around. We have the role players and we need to find the star players that go around them. Neither Yao or McGrady is the answer there and it doesn't make sense to take on contracts. We need to be able to pick who we want on this team.
