I'll take Iverson over any of guards except maybe Brown. I think Iverson would know how close he would be to winning a championship if he signed with the Lakers. I'm sure that would change his mindset and be a passing, defensive PG first, rather than a selfish, scoring guard. I love his attitude and I'm almost positive he wouldn't allow a Brooks or another small, quick guard drop 30 on us. Sign him, start him.

LMAO So Nuggs are thinking about adding A.I to their bench now.
Some of you are looking at this all wrong, A.I can and will help this team in a very good way.
Adding him to our second unit will help our bench in more ways than one. I think he will have a great impact to our lineup and for us to sit here and call him a cancer or a headache then we shouldnt have never signed Artest since I think he is much worst than A.I.

Like TKB said, AI was never much of a defender even back in his prime. At 34, I doubt he'd be much of an upgrade over Fish, if he'd be an upgrade at all.
Offensively, yeah, of course he'd be better, but guys don't all of a sudden change their style, especially this late in his career. This guy is used to pounding the rock until he gets a shot, and he's a terrible perimeter shooter -- two qualities that are the antithesis of what we need around Kobe.
So as bad as Fish has been -- and he's been atrocious -- I'd rather sink with him than gamble on the Canswer.
Hell, if we're desperate for a change why not give those minutes to Shannon?

Iverson won't solve our defensive problems at the point guard. He gambles a lot which creates steals, but he's never been a great defensive player at any point of his career IMO.
Thank you! Now please no one mention AI and defense in the same sentence again. IMO he can't hurt our PG defense, but there is ZERO defensive benefit to signing this guy.

We would have if we wasn't in luxury tax hell, but hey it won't matter because Phil doesn't play rookies anyways.

some of us got it wrong? are you kidding me?
theres a reason why good teams like the Lakers, Celts and Cavs have not spoke a word about Iverson. Obviously they are alot better at being GM than we would be thats why their in charge. Dont you think Mitch would arleady have pulled the trigger? And no, Nuggets only want him as an insurance policy.
Time and time again iverson had proven that he doesnt play for the front of his jersey, only the back.
knowing that he signed with the Grizzlies tells you how serious he is about being a champion. It also shows you how many GMs have looked at him as an option.
this is blasphemy. no we are not DESPERATE for a guard although it is a concern
, some of you guys are over-reacting. as far as im concerned we have won a championship with these group of guys, minus the Ariza Artest swap. Talent doesnt always win, its making sure the right pieces are in their proper places and A.I in this case is certainly NOT the answer.

He's doing a pretty good job of giving himself a bad reputation. If he wants to repair his image and continue to play in the NBA, then he needs to be more willing to accept a lesser role. He's got to back up his words as opposed to going back on it 3 games into the season.

I don't think some of you understand the Iverson dynamic.
He got traded from Denver because he wanted to be the man and it didn't benefit the team.
He was basically cut from Detroit before the playoffs, because he thought he was the man over Stuckey and Hamilton.
He does NOT care about a ring. If he did, why is his price tag only $3m for ANY team to snatch him up TWICE in the past 6 months? Why is it that only Memphis, NYK and Miami are brave enough to poke a stick at him?
He cares about getting 30+ minutes and throwing up 50 shots every game. This is our worst nightmare. Everything the critics tried to pin on Artest, is Iverson in the flesh. When Iverson changes his attitude and realizes he is talented, but needs to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle... he will be pursued and win a few games for his trouble. But that likely won't happen. And we have too much to lose to gamble on him.
Kobe/Artest/Odom/Bynum/Gasol/Brown/Powell/Fish....
We look good as is.
Pass.

Have to dissagree man..AI in the RIGHT team will do wonders. (Cleveland, L.A, MIA)
He will be a upgrade over DFISH. I love him to death, but you cannot stop time and he's getting old. AI might no be able to do the same things he could do when he was 28...But he can still put up some numbers. I was on AI side on this incident. He deserved to start in Memphis Conley was not getting the job done. Period. Give Bubba Chuck a chance.

For those clamoring for AI, I can keep shooting this thing dead with quotes from "smart" guy. That was just three quotes from 2 guys. Iverson can keep flopping like a fish out water gasping for air as far as I'm concerned....................his career is over in the NBA.
