It looks like Wells is going to play, but if he goes down, does that just leave Deitrich-Smith as our starting center, or do we play Lang (who I believe has had some experience there) at yet another position? Got to give some props to this new training staff, though. As a team, we're pretty healthy right now.

49ers week: Friday injury report/update
By Greg A. Bedard of the Journal Sentinel
Nov. 20, 2009 12:11 p.m.

Green Bay - Mostly good news on the injury front:

* Questionable: G Allen Barbre (ankle), C Evan Dietrich-Smith (ankle), RB Ahman Green (groin).

* All three did not participate in practice on Friday. Dietrich-Smith got rolled up on during the Thursday practice. "He had a tough time yesterday," coach Mike McCarthy said. "He's pretty banged up." Daryn Colledge took some center snaps to prepare for an emergency situation. The Dolphins had three centers get hurt last night vs. Carolina and were in such dire straights that backup Joe Berger had to re-enter the game.

* Chad Clifton got his normal Friday rest.

* Players that were full participants and are probable: LB Desmond Bishop, LB Brandon Chillar, TE Jermichael Finley, DE Cullen Jenkins, DE Johnny Jolly, LB Brad Jones, LB Aaron Kampman, FB John Kuhn, LB Clay Matthews, LB Brady Poppinga, OT Mark Tauscher, C Scott Wells, CB Charles Woodson.

* Tauscher will start at RT and "we'll see what his endurance level is."

I don't recall hearing that Ahman was injured.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

With Deitrich-Smith not looking good and either him being banged up or Colledge have to fill in I have a feeling our run game is going to be putrid on Sunday.

Some interesting stat stuff on offensive lines in general. As expected, we don't fare well.

These numbers at least partially validate what I've been saying: that the left side of the line has been a lot worse than the right side, save one or two games.

Iraqi detainees taunt Wisconsin soldiers about Brett Favre

By MJD

If you happen to be a Packers fan who is sick and tired of hearing about Brett Favre(notes), and you're thinking of joining the National Guard and going overseas to get away from it all, stop. It's not going to work. The detainees in Baghdad are going to be just as vicious as the Vikings fans you know.

A Wisconsin National Guard unit charged with keeping watch over detainees in Baghdad decided to put up Packers colors and logos all around the camp. The prisoners noticed, started asking questions and suddenly, Favre became an unwitting ally.

From 620WTMJ's Jay Sorgi (subbing in for the injured Waylon Manning):

"They know Favre by name," said First Lieutenant Tim Boehnen, who is from New Richmond, Wis.

"One of the big words they know now is shenanigan. They'll constantly talk about 'Favre shenanigans,' 'He's so good for the Vikings,' and 'The Packers have got to really feel bad about that one.' "

[...] "They obviously then started up the conversations, and started talking about Brett Favre. They soon learned about Favre going to the Vikings, and things just started going downhill from there."

In retaliation, I think our troops should make the detainees watch ESPN's Week 4 Monday Night Football contest between the Vikings and Packers, including pre- and post-game shows. They'll never want to mention Favre again.

One, we all know my position on Aaron. He isn't even a solid back up.
