Stafford had a couple miscues (including two picks), but he looked impressive out there. Especially throwing to Calvin for some big plays.

Our defense needs ALOT of work.

Good news, per NFL Redzone the X-rays on Staffords shoulder were negative. Could still be seperated or have a strained muscle, but shouldn't be a bad lingering injury.

Also, when asked if he knew Stafford was hurt and did that tell the team anything about his character when he came back in the game, Pettigrew says "We knew what he is, he is a War Dog."

Stafford is proving himself in the lockerroom. Something none of our former QBs have done.

^ I love Matty. Just love him. He made some dumb throws today (the pick in the endzone) but he also made some beauties. The bomb to CJ while moving was really nice. He hit his receivers in stride and in the hands all day. He was poised in the pocket, running when he had to. Stafford is the future, without a doubt. The kid is going to be a stud

Frankly just a big win for the franchise. We were exposed majorly in some areas, but showed tremendous upside in some others.

Stafford is the youngest QB in NFL history to throw 5 TD's in a game.
Defence Wins Championships,we need to return to the Bad Boy era.

In 8 games, 170-308 1,911 yds 55.2 cmp% 11 TDs 14 INTs... still needs to watch his picks, but his numbers are improving.

This is what I expected from him this year. Not a 400+ yd game and a hail mary play as time ran out for a win, but an inconsistent up and down season with mistakes and good strides. This is why he needed to start the season. This growth will only help us.

Him getting confortable finding Calvin for big plays. Him making adjustments on his short slants. Him knowing when to throw and when to pass off to Kevin Smith for the run. He still needs work, but he is our future. And it's time to develop him while things are bad and expectations are low.

Youngest NFL QBs 5+TDs
Year/player Yrs-Days Team
'09 Matthew Stafford 21-288 Lions
'84 Dan Marino 22-353 Dolphins
'66 Joe Namath 23-110 Jets

Not bad company huh?

Kevin Smith had 104 yards receiving and a score for the Lions, who all were raving about Stafford's gutsy final play.

"I almost wanted to cry seeing how tough Matt was at the end," Smith said. "No one knew what his injury was, or how bad he was hurt, but he still came back out there and made a play. No one would have complained if he had let Daunte take that play, but he wanted to be out there for his teammates."

Anyone who still doubted Stafford being the leader of this team, especially after taking the blmae for the dropped passes from his teammates last week instead of pointing fingers, has no reason to doubt him now.

The No. 1 pick in the NFL draft became the first rookie to throw five TDs in a game since Ray Buivid for the Bears in 1937, according to STATS LLC.

Youngest player ever to have 5 TD's in a game as well.

I only saw highlights of the game, but yeah, Stafford owns the locker room. The end of the game was probably the most electric moment in Lions football since the Barry Sanders era.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
