I think Camby has no intention of leaving, talking about how much he likes LA and how he hates moving cities (evidence: hatred towards Denver after the trade). Hopefully we can snag him for another few years if we were to trade Kaman.

The whole Sterling won't open his checkbook is so old and doesn't even make sense now. 13M for Baron, 10M for Kaman, 6M for Timmy, and 9M for Mobley? Hellooo? 5M for freakin Dunleavy, wanting to resign Odom, trying to giving Brand a bigger offer than Philly(thankfully this crap didn't happen). He's a cheapass indeed, but it's stupid to say he won't give anyone the big bucks these days.

Who the heck was even worth the money they asked for in the past? Didn't Maurice Taylor and Kandiman want max deals? What a joke.

You guys still cant get a max fa next year, but with kaman having his value at an all time high you guys should look to get rid of him for cap room and picks.

There's no point if we're going to keep Baron's contract. It's either get rid of both or get rid of none.

Why can't we get a max contract FA? Next year we will have a little over 39M in contracts which will leave us around 17-18 Mil to sign an agent. We do not need any cap space to sign a FA. As amatter of fact with our cap spce next year we can actually sign more than one FA rather than spend it all one FA. Not to mention we will have the Bird Rights on a couple of players that will become FA at the end of the season.

Comeon Danny, you gotta get with the program brah. Obviously we aren't able to sign a max FA cause we're the Clippers. Forget the fact that we're in one of the biggest markets and have some nice young talent along with the cap space you speak of. We're the Clippers dawg.

Max FAs would obviously prefer a inferior team such as the Knicks over us. In a market that's just as big as LA. A team that has average talent at best, and where 7-8 of the players will suddenly disappear and the only long term contracts they have are with overpaid underachieving players.

Comeon Danny.. Comeon..

I haven't checked in awhile, but the cap would need to be over $55M for us to keep Baron & Kaman and pick up a max FA. This is with the assumption that we had an average pick in the draft and traded Thornton and Telfair's salary for picks. It would be possible at that amount, but we'd have a gutted team (Baron, EJ, DJ, BG, Kaman, 2010 Draft pick & our Max FA) with the rest of the spots being filled with minimum contracts. Depending on the player, it would be worth the hassle, but we could just as well target less expensive players that could fill a couple of holes and not have to totally gut our team to do so.

With the Cap likely being less than that, it's pretty much impossible to add a Max FA without trading away Baron or Kaman for cap space.

It's highly unlikely we will sign a superstar like Lebron or Wade. I just hope we don't get desperate and throw crazy money like we did at Mobley when we didn't get Kobe.

We definitely need to get a legit SF next summer. Rudy Gay would be nice as a FA. A sign and trade for someone like Gerald Wallace or Tayshaun Prince would be ok too.

As for our 2010 pick, we need a good backup to EG.

Rudy isn't bad, but like.. He's just mostly a scorer. He's just a more efficient version of Thornton since his D isn't that good. I don't mind getting him depending on his price tag. I think he'll probably want something around 10M though.

I say we go for someone like Raja Bell for defensive purposes, or if we need a clutch player maybe someone like... James Singleton. 8-) Just kidding.

I don't see a whole lot of quality UFA SFs. Maybe Mike Miller? Not sure how much Joe Johnson would want. Maybe give another go for Kelenna if he declines his PO.

Edit - Damn typos.

Rudy Gay will probably cost a lot and i'm not that sure if he really fits next to Griffin and Gordon, thanks to being very offensive minded and rather bleak on defense.

Mike Miller is someone we should keep an eye on, as he'd probably be available for something slightly more then the MLE. His shooting, rebounding and passing would be something that could help us a lot and he would be usefull if we want to keep Baron more fresh(or if we trade him and aren't that experienced at pg), cause he can play the point forward role.

Joe Johnson just declined a 4 year $60 mil contract extansion this summer and i doubt he wants much less then a max contract. And even though he's really good and could work at the 3 spot for us, i just don't see him being worth that kind of money.

Azubuike has been injured a couple of days ago and will miss the rest of the season. I doubt he'll decline his PO, cause hardly anyone will offer him a better contract now.

BTW: As being mentioned, someone to back up Gordon would be nice to have and as we're currently looking like a team with yet another lottery pick, i'd try to get Evan Turner(Ohio State) with that pick. That, of course, only if we don't lose any bigs(outside of Camby) next summer, cause then we should look at one of those big guys as it looks like a big men draft next year.
Still, Turner would be a good piece to add, cause he's 6'7 and able to play three positions(1 - 3), which would help us a lot.
