my opinion, I know what everyone WAS capable of...Ray looks like the shadow of his former self, KG is sooooooo tentative and gunshy around the paint, Rasheed wasn't good last year, he had a great preseason this year but is now sucking, and Paul looks like he's only capable of being Paul for maybe 2 quarters in a game at his age.

We really need RR to become what everyone says he will be, an all-star to make this work and it ain't happening right now.

Doc gave Rasheed to green light to shoot threes whenever he sees fit. That light needs to be turned off and Resheed needs to get his candy ass under the basket where it belongs. The lack of rebounding is due to too many long range shots being taken. To the ball to the hoop and all of the teams woes will go away.

As for AI if it would light a fire under Rondo I am all for it.

As for Gomes Minn. does not trade him for scraps.

Bring in a high energy sub 30 year old who can play SG maybe some SF, makes 3's, and plays defense.

Jammer bud,

Did you miss the very last part of my "game comments" in the Knicks Victory Cigar thread, and therefore you are just as "bball smart" (LOL) as I am, or are you plagiarizing me (LOL)?

I wrote - get AI NOW (after he signs an oath not to whine when Doc limits his minutes, and realizes that PP and KG will beat the **** out of him if he starts his prima donna crap), and get Gomes.

We are exactly on the same page regarding this issue, BRAH!! (as our occasional Laker lurker would say). LOLOL.

P.S. I make the same offer to you that Bru recently took me up on. If you ever want to IM chat on AOL or Yahoo messenger, look for Atorvastat (atorvastatin = Lipitor = one of the better drugs available to decrease LDL cholesterol = one of my favorite drugs to prescribe).
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

Hmmm.... yeah, trading TA and Giddens (expirings) for Gomes (good value for money yet MN may look to move him to pursue FA's), then signing A.I. for vet minimum would be pretty darn good work for Danny's black Friday.

^^^The problem is as they proved in 2007 you need quality to win not depth. So increasing the depth with AI and Gomes isn't going to save the Celtics. Those aren't bad moves but unless KG and Ray Allen get going they aren't going to win a championship.

My choices for help at center If they were available. They all have reasonable salaries.

Przybilla - one year
Haywood - expiring
Collison - one year
Foster - one year
Camby - expiring

Whenever Blake Griffin returns, Camby could be available before the trade deadline. Collison is undersized at center, but he could possibly be available for the right offer.

Exculpatory: It would appear the evidence is very incriminating. I located the quote on page one of the Knicks Victory Cigar thread (see below). It would appear that we are guilty of agreeing with each other on something. And, when I made my post above, I neglected to mention it.

exculpatory wrote:We need Big Baby back, and in my opinion, we need a trade for a true back-up point (I definitely want AI now) and/or another 3/4 like Gomes.

I will NEVER lose faith in this team, and I am ashamed of some of you guys who posted "sky is falling" **** in the game thread.

Although Pete's point (here he is again, just like a few days ago, making this a threesome) about quality over depth has merits. The classic example is when Portland lost to the Lakers in 2000 or so, Portland had the better top 9; but the Lakers had the better top 5 (either that, or Portland just couldn't hit a shot for the last 5 minutes).

But in the aging Celtics case, as important as the starters are (meaning Ray and KG's continued productivity and not repeat performances of their lame Knicks game); having a productive bench can take a lot of pressure off the starters, so I am still in favor of AI and Gomes. Iverson would cover the days when Rajon is not scoring, or House if off (I am hugely supportive of House), and Gomes would just give a bit more size at the three, which at times is needed.

Your much better off with a top heavy roster IMHO. Its too hard to make 'depth' work in the NBA. Almost all of the time the best 5 man unit wins. What happens with too much depth is your chemistry gets thrown out of whack..the second tier guys feel they should be starting. And the first tier guys don't get to "play through" their mistakes.

I think the question worth asking is..is any combination of Gomes, AI, Pierce, Rondo, Perkins, KG, RA, BBD, Daniels, Wallace and House better then Gasol, Artest, Kobe, Bynum and Fisher? I don't think there is one with KG and RA playing as poorly as they are now.

The C's built a championship around this idea. We had a competent bench to be sure but it was the higher combined talent level of our top 5 that won the championship. Not all hope is lost Danny could either try to upgrade one of the top 5 guys (next year) or two of those guys could start playing much better.

I personally think Rondo and Perkins are playing at excepted levels..so I don't look for improvement there.
