Kyle Lowry
I'm a Knick fan and dont really watch the Rockets much. But I've always loved Kyle Lowry and I see that he's expiring this year. Do you think the Rockets are going to resign him? I see he is backing up Brooks at the moment. Has he developed since his Memphis days?

Re: Kyle Lowry
I'm one of the people who wondered what Daryl Morey was smoking when he made that trade last year. Rafer Alston, for all of his faults, was at least a proven NBA player while this Lowry guy couldn't even make it off the bench in Memphis!
Yeah, I quickly realized once again that Dork Elvis is smart, and I am dumb.
Lowry has been a terrific addition to this Rockets team. He is fast, he knows no fear and in his mind he is at least 7 feet tall! He is one of the better rebounding small guys I have seen on the court and his game actually complements Brooks when they play together; and he provides a distinct option at PG in certain situations. He's still struggling with his outside shot at times, but that's not his strength for us - he attacks the basket hard and spreads the floor. I'm a big fan of the guy.
Re-signing him (along with Scola) has to be seen as a top priority for Morey. I doubt that he even hits the open market. Morey and Adelman are huge supporters of his, and he has a perfect role down here.
One of the reasons you see some of us Rox fans get bent out of shape over the Curry/JJ type deals is because adding those guys would essentially cost us Kyle Lowry, and that's just not acceptable!
There are some who believe that he should start over Brooks - I was one of them - but I think that he is better for this team off the bench when he can just come in and carve up defenses and give the Rockets a much needed boost of energy.

Thanks. If I'm not mistaken, since you have his bird years, you can go over the cap to resign him, so Jeffries/Curry would not affect that. I hope he hits the market so we can grab him, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'll resign Lowry up to the MLE. He's a great change of pace off the bench.

I'm hoping a similar deal to what Landry got for about 3 mil per. Sign him 4 year 12-16 million.

Yup. Its reasonable unless some team overpays for him.

Re: Kyle Lowry
Morey knew what he was doing with Lowry, and in the league people knew about Lowry. He wasn't some unproven piece ofd the bench. The problem with him and Memphis was that they wanted to promote Conley, yet Conley couldn't beat out Lowry.
Just check last season's game logs. Lowry would log the most minutes & finish the games. They had to change that up by trading Lowry.
Lowry was a proven penetrator, solid rebounder, and aggressive player. He's displayed some great games against us while he was apart of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Re: Kyle Lowry
i love lowry since his day in villanova
not many people can split two defenders with penetration
i was hoping we get his draft right in Gay-Battier trade

i think he had a triple double in that game?
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming
