doesnt the coach like Zach

From an outsider looking in it seems the coach isnt big on Zach, he plays a lot less time than Gay but most of his stats are better per 48 mins.
Couldnt believe he didnt get more shots Vs Bucks, cost you guys the game!

i dont understand either why the last plays of the games is to give the ball to gay or mayo and let them create a shot. gay has been that last pick lately. thats why our "key of the game" is always "play with damn sense"....Our bigs has good FG% and FT%, i dont know why dont we throw the ball inside and then look if theres an easy shot or pass the ball to the open man. Gasol can do that and i think ZAch could do it too.

Zach has been a very good addition to the team, but he has to be pulled sometimes for foul trouble, bad defense, poor matchups, and maybe sometimes fatigue.

It's not that easy to run the offense through Zach because he is a bad passer out of the post. He does a great job at finding Marc when Marc is open down low, but trying to post up Zach and let him create something usually leads to a turnover.

I think he's played his role nicely so far this season. When we've needed to ride his back, we have and he's done a fine job at producing. But, with Gasol playing so well, there really isn't even a need to force feed Zach. Zach has been getting his numbers within the flow of the game and that is what I had hoped he would do.

I don't know about the coach not liking him. Randolph is getting a good number of scoring chances and touches to the point where Mayo's shots taken has fallen off this season (sorry 360 for ripping you on the trade board by the way. I didn't get it that you were being sarcastic in your OJ Mayo post).

But I also believe that in games where Randolph is having success inside they should keep calling his number. Drawing fouls was an area the Grizzlies had problems last season and if Randolph can pound away inside on offense and draw more fouls it gets everyone to the line quicker each quarter, not to mention the other teams coach has to adjust his game plan with substitutions.

It's cool. Good sticking up for Mayo.

I just made that thread because some people at the main board talk trash about him for every mistake he makes or every bad game he has like he's suppose to be a finished product after 1 season. When you look at the other sophomores, they have been very inconsistent as well.

remember Zach is in his 9th season which means his production and minutes are going to take a dive no matter what. It is a fact of life. but he is basically playing as well as ever. actually his field goal percentage is at an all time high and he's killing the boards. I think we all agree he should get more touches in the final minutes but they're still figuring out how to work together. How often does he give the ball back to Rudy or OJ once they pass it in to him? Not nearly as much as Pau Gasol would... though Gasol had his own issues.

just read ZBO ranks #1 in NBA in total offensive rebounds this season so far... nice.
