Glen gets cast off Dec 2nd.........

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 4:01 pm

The cast will come off the thumb on Dec. 2, and then, according to coach Doc Rivers, the task of getting back into the rotation will intensify. Davis should be cleared for contact soon after, but when he’s ready to roll, he will have no guarantees.

“He’s just got to fight his way back and get his minutes and continue to be a team player and do the team stuff,” said Rivers of Davis, whose last fight (a wee-hour battle with a friend) led to the injury. “When he does that he’s a good player. When he gets outside of his role, he struggles. Glen just adds more talent to our team when he comes. It’s another talented big, and I’d rather have five of them than four of them.”

Doc's quote about Davis having to work hard to get back into the rotation is pretty funny and overly P.C.

How about this scenario for Davis' first game back:

Sheed is 0-4 from beyond the arc and Doc calls #11

I'd like to see them both out there, baby can be a great catalyst for ball movement. On top of that he gives some legit post presence.

Yeah, I mean 10-4 is so ****, isn't it? Dude, I know you love Glen and all, but even Sheed in his slump right now is a better player than Glen. Sheed is a started coming off the bench. Glen is a career 7th or 8th man....

I want to see what's best for the C's and that might be both of them on the floor together causing terrible match up problems for any teams 2nd unit. I hope to see that sooner then later.

What was ou record lat year at this time without Sheed? We started off 27-2.
And how is Sheed better than Davis? You must like the 36% from the field and 26% from 3's. He has no lateral quickness anymore.

Why do people here think Sheed is a still good. This isn't the Sheed of 3-5 years ago. Look at what Sheed did last year in the playoff compared to what Glen Davis did in the playoffs. Did you watch any of the Detroit/Cavs series? Ask Detroit fans what they thought about Wallace last season. Just because he is a Celtic now doesn't mean he is a great player.

For the record, I like to see Sheed and Davis on the floor together. When Davis comes back, he would be taking more of Wiliam's minutes, not Wallace's. This tread isn't about Sheed vs Davis. It's about Glen Davis coming back and helping this team win, like he did last season. We coud use his offense and hussle.
