Rambis ruining Flynn
This quick hook he has on him after small mistakes is ridiculous... Let him play through his mistakes like Jennings and all the other rooks get to.

This system just makes everything looks so much harder for Jonny
If the NBA were a video game, Jonny Flynn is playing it on expert difficulty
Thats a garbage analogy, but this entire team is playing garbage, so screw putting any real input and thought into these bastards

Re: Rambis ruining Flynn
I think Flynn needs to be the 3rd scoring option to be successful. We need a wing player that can take some heat off him.
Does Rambis have a short leash? yea...but he is the coach and that method might pay off better in time.

Remember who also had a short leash? I don't want to say his name, someone else do it.
Speaking of video games, what's with Rambis' rotations? "Uh oh, all my starters have low stamina, better sub in all of my bench players at once..."
WTF

Randy Wittman?
Its hard to have a short leash when the whole team plays like ass, then you end up just pulling guys all the time until midway through the 3rd when you realize dejectedly that nothing you do matters

Flynn doesn't suck, he makes some mistakes, but he's one player on this team who doesn't suck.
I agree that Rambis doesn't handle him well, it's like Wittman vol. 2. And people should understand that Rambis hasn't proven anything as a head coach, so far his hasn't separated himself from the likes of Twitman in my eyes, what makes him any better than Theus and Lambeer? Really? What?

I'm fine with how Flynn is being handled, he's a man and he's gonna use his time on the bench to his advantage.

Flynn can score and put up assists and hold his own on defense, he's not an undeveloped scrub who will get himself and his confidance destroyed by opponents, the only thing that can hamper him is getting sent to the bench. RAMBIS!!! YOU SUCK DICK!!! YOU HEAR ME???

He turns the ball over way too much though. CP3 had 2.3 TO in 36 mpg his rookie season, Flynn is at 3.4 in 28 mpg so far. We need to build Flynn into an indestructible killing machine like Van Damme in Universal Soldier and not accept these failures.

i think hes referring to a player.
the name that comes to mind for me is rashad mccants.
however.. flynn's maturity level is about 100x what mccants is.
i have yet to decide how this will turn out.. its only 14 games into his entire career.. this could pay dividends over the long haul.. time will tell... im sure rambis has a better idea of what is successful coaching strategy at that level than what we are giving him credit for at this point.
lets stop panicking and have some faith here.

No DSW is right, I was referring to... Wittman(shutters). I hope Rambis proves us wrong, but so far, I'm not impressed.

I don't really like the way he manages either PG. They were probably our 2 best players last night but neither of them managed to get 30 min on the floor.

At some point he needs to try playing them together for extended minutes. I believe he said he was "eh" about the whole idea. Well, we've won one game so far and they're our two best guards. Screw balance on the court and get as much talent as you can out there. Does he think we would have won fewer games if they were both getting 35 minutes a game???

Re: Rambis ruining Flynn
Unrealistically, I was(and probably still am) in the give Flynn 35 minutes a night at PG corner.
But I am not about to jump all over Rambis for it yet. Lets face it he is a new coach, trying to implement a new offense, style of play and ultimately playing rotations. He has been a head coach for 14 games, I am willing to cut him some slack for not having Phil Jackson's mastery of playing rotations.
I also understand what Rambis is trying to do. The easiest thing for a crappy team to do is run up and down the court chucking the ball all over the place. I dont think Flynn having to have some accountability for his mistakes is a bad thing. Whether you agree with the style of play or not, he is trying to teach a style that emphasizes decision making and team play. We know Flynn can score, but he hasnt proven how to run an offense yet.
This season isnt JUST about developing Flynn and sessions. Its about developing others as well. Al Jefferson, Kevin Love, Ryan Hollins, Corey Brewer, etc cant develop this year either if they are standing around watching Flynn dribble the ball around in circles or catching entry passes at their ankles.

There is no reason to worryabout Flynn at this point. Al is who Wolves fans should be worrying about.

Agreed. Al looks like Zach Randolph pretending to be 08/09 Al.

Damn you Rambis.

Is there anything he is excited about? Besides the Sessions+4 players that aren't offensive threats line up, of course.

"It hasn't turned into something I'm really excited about," Rambis said before Monday night's game against the Clippers. "We'll keep playing with it and see where it goes."

"Ramon has a little bit more poise, a little bit more experience with the point guard position so his focal point when he comes in is just to make sure he's organizing our offense," Rambis said.
"Jonny has a lot more scoring capabilities. I'm asking him to resist those a little bit and learn how to organize the offense while he's still looking for his scoring opportunities."

Re: Rambis ruining Flynn
I feel like this Flynn situation is giving off some deja vu vibes. Didn't the Foye situation start out with "yep, PG all the way. He's a scorer now, but we're gonna turn him into a PG!!!" Then it just makes him play like a (Please Use More Appropriate Word), so eventually they put him at SG. Maybe he's just a PG that likes to score buckets because he's better at it than everybody else? After watching the rest of the team try and fail miserably at looking adept on offense I'm not sure that's such a bad thing. He can learn to be a John Stockton passing PG once there's guys around him that can convert. What's he gonna learn if he runs the play perfectly, makes the pass, then the guy with the ball can't finish?

Exactly. yea, Flynn needs a lot of work but nobody on this damn team can score the ball consistently off of his passes. Players have to do it but it sucks when you make a pass and you know the guy you are passing to is not going to make the play. Hell, even Big Al would pass the ball more if he knew he had scorers on the receiving end of those passes.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Ha. What was his excuse last year when the team had 3pt shooters?
