It is sad to hear that. It is a big loss for the Wizards/Bullets and the city.

He was one of the greatest Washingtonians ever. His contributions to the city will be remembered forever. He was a local legend. Today marks a sad day in the history of the Wizards franchise and the District of Columbia.

This is very sad news indeed. Personally, I felt a lot of the criticism of Abe over the years was unfounded, and he was a great, great man, especially for all he did for this city. I will miss him. RIP.

I was hoping that the Wizards would win that championship for him. I wonder who will take over his team. :( He was very loyal to Wes Unseld and his family. I wish he could've won another championship before he passed.

Abe was a guy who built his position up by himself and then used that position to touch the lives of others. His life was a great boon to so many people; he was really a facilitator to the whole of D.C.

He had genuine warmth. He will be missed and he will be remembered.

+1 It is appropriate to discuss what will become of his holdings etc....I guess it depends on his will.

Rest in peace, Abe.

One can only hope that he wasn't "with it" enough in his final days to witness the turmoil that the team he loved was in. Hopefully everyone in the Wiz locker room can use this as a way to refocus on working together to right the ship.

I'm feeling oddly compelled to go to the game tonight to honor Mr Pollin. Anyone thinking that way?

Would it be possible for the thread title to be corrected to "Pollin" as a mark of respect and accuracy?

Sad day for DC. Abe was a good man who cared about his city and the people in it. Rest in peace.

The Wizards need to turn this season around for Abe. The man deserves it. He always believed in this group of Wizards...now its time for them to believe in themselves.
