What do you think about him as a possible MLE target this summer?
He could play very well here.

I like Al, but not sure he'd go for the MLE. He's also seems like kind of a selfish Corey Magette-type player, which won't fit well.

Ugh, hate the way he plays.

If we're going to even spend the MLE it needs to be on a defensive player who can make the other player work, ie Battier or even Camby, never know he might take a cheaper deal to get healthy.

I'd even look to someone like Jermaine O'neal for a 1 or 2 yr deal - get the medical staff to work on him.

I think Frye is going to re-up though after this season, teams will be after him and he does have an option to opt out I believe

Frye would be stupid to leave the Suns. I can understand him wanting to work out his contract this season and maybe grab 3-5mil/yr. But I don't think other teams will want him as much as we need him.

Yeah, Frye won't be leaving the Suns, but he will work out a better, possibly longer deal.

Yeah, better to keep Frye as our jump shooting big and target a defensive big like Haywood/Jermaine/Camby/Haslem.

Wouldn't mind Amir Johnson, KT, or Big Ben (unlikely to leave Detroit tho) on cheap either...

Nah. Too much production that's identical to Amare's, except he's even worse at rebounding. We just need RoLo to decide he wants to be just like Joakim Noah. Strange role model to idolize but that's about the best I see out of RoLo, and that would be a beautiful think. Or maybe he can say, "wait, I've got the EXACT same genes as Brooke?!? WHY CAN'T I DO THAT STUFF!!!?!?!?"

I tried to read this thread, but the notion that Frye would be hitting the crack pipe hard enough to leave the Suns after this year was far too distracting.

Yeah he would be a good fit, would probably want more than the midlevel though.

Good options. I've always been on the Camby train, I think he'd be excellent here. As far as Big Ben, I think he's done when the season ends. He was already seriously leaning towards retirement anyways.

No. He is another DA/Nelson-kind of player we certainly better do without.
J.Oneal for MLE would be ideal.

O'Neal wouldn't get the MLE here, probably LLE. I could see us going after Camby for a 2 year deal to shore up the bench with a solid big, but all depends on what happens with Amare. I could see us moving Barbosa for a big/defensive wing, too.

Amir Johnson would be nice here - agreed BBF. Get to watch him every game for the Raptors, and though he isn't the shotblocker I thought he was, he's a great rebounder and he runs the floor really well. Not to mention he's very young and has upside.

Would be great to get a guy like Camby to come here - volume rebounder, decent J (UGLY, but it goes in) out to 18, and a very underrated passer for his size. He's a lot older than you think though....still, that would fit our team haha

I don't get why everyone wants Camby. We need to build the team to go forward for the next 3 to 5 years. Camby is so old. I suppose if he were willing to come on the vet's minimum, then ok, but otherwise, the money can probably be better spent elsewhere.

Yeah.. nah.. no to Camby. Maybe 5-6 years a go.

I'd still try to get Tyrus Thomas.
He'll "blow up" under the Suns system.

And Ro.Lopez... I am still optimistic. As someone said, Joakim Noah is a good target to mimic.
Same energy levels, Noah is smarter, but Lopez is taller/bigger, all Lopez really needs is 30 minutes on the court. So someone's gotta coach him not to "foul" and use his energy to swat shots off help defenses and grab rebounds.

I hope I'm as wrong about Sideshow as I was about Noah - he looked damn good against the Blazers last night

Hi, new here.

No to Al Harrington. He made good impression trashing Garnett on sunday but I've seen him many times last years and he's the last player we need in Suns. Forces bad shots, doesn't rebound the ball and he makes so many boneheaded plays. He actually lost Knicks 2 games last season when he got t'd up for hanging on the rim in last seconds of close games.

Return to Phoenix Suns
