Phils rotation in the 4th quater

Post#1 » by snaquille oatmeal » Wed Nov 25, 2009 1:46 pm

I wrote this in last night game thread, but I think it deserves its own thread to discuss the bench issues in the 4th quater:

the problem I am seeing is that Phil plays the bench way to early. most teams that have a 20 plus lead in the 4th don't get their starters out until around the 4th minute mark. Phil starts the 4th with the bench and that is what kills us in the 4th. he should wait until the other team gives up before taking out the starters or wait until it is obviously hopeless to catch up.

I like what Phis is doing. He is putning pressur one the 2 unit to play. It has not work but like you see they need the min to play better.
I want to see this again and again and mabey when the playoffs starts then they will be okey(not good, they cant be that).

If I was Phil I put the second stringers back in after the timeout and tell them they either win or lose the game tonight. I also tell them that if they lose they should be prepared for Mitch to trade thier sorry a$$e$ for someone who gives a damn. There is no reason they should continue to play like individuals and not a team when they are on the floor.

you have a good point. I've never sure if he's testing and molding peoples character for big moments, or if he's just a stubborn jackass sometimes. Like- Walton- he's always played him in big moments and alot of the time Luke is good for 3 turnovers in a row- when he delivers he's a saint, but Phil refuses to go away from him even if he single handedly gives the other team 6 points in a row.

It's not really Phil's fault the bench mob is only a threat to themselves. I think that's good sportsmanship to pull your starters early. Our reserves just seem to suck and aren't motivated to earn their keep by winning some games for us. They will eventually cost us a few games, but for now... we have no money and the scrubs we want to get rid of, are useless. So this is the team we will be stuck with.
