Under what circumstances should we trade Brooks?

Post#1 » by Don Draper » Wed Nov 25, 2009 8:56 pm

I like Brooks game a lot, but I hate his size defensively, his turnovers, and questionable decision making in crunch time. Under what scenarios would you trade him, either this season or next season?

Aaron Brooks, Tracy McGrady and Brian Cook to LA LAKERS for Pau Gasol and Adam Morrison

HOUSTON
F: Batter, Budinger, Morrison (expiring)
F: Scola, Landry, Dorsey
C: Gasol, Hayes, Andersen, Yao
G: Lowry, Conroy
G: Ariza, Taylor

*Gasol has been teammates with Lowry, Battier and Ariza so transition should be easier
*Rockets get an all star big man who can play with Yao next season

LA LAKERS
F: McGrady, Walton
F: Artest, Odom, Powell
C: Bynum, Mbenga, Cook
G: Brooks, Fisher, Farmar
G: Bryant, Brown, Sasha

*Lakers get young PG who has played well against them
*Lakers get McGrady's expiring contract
*McGrady will play hard to get a ring on Kobe's coattails.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

He isn't an ideal starter and would make a hell of a bench player. But he is the best we have at the position and he can shoot. That's loads better than the scrub we use to have there.

A point guard better than him..

I would love for the rockets to push for Kirk Hinrich IF he didnt have such a bad contract

Like I said before, if Lowry could have a reliable shoot, he would be a great PG for us

I get the feeling that this team is going to try and trade for a star ala back in the day like they did for Charles Barkley. Not sure that would be an ideal move though, I kind of like having great depth.

Using Trade exceptions this works(tho no chance of happening):
McGrady,Brooks,Landry,2010 First for Chris Paul,Okafor,Songalia.

Once Lowary can shot from outside or we got a decent PG from a trade, Aaron will be traded. I belivel that Morey is trying to sell him on high. Book it!
