Clutch from CF tweeted

Source tells ClutchFans that Adelman has no interest in playing T-Mac. Zero. Says: "This isn't going to end well.

You can take this with a grain of salt but Clutch's sources are usually right. I guess we'll see what happens sooner or later now that Tmac is officially back in practice.

Stupid, T-Mac should be playing if he's healthy enough to play.

Look I don't doubt that Adelman doesn't like McGrady but at the same time winning has to come first. And as soon as we start to struggle McGrady will be back in there. Thats the funny thing about sports...preferences only last as long as winning. When you aren't winning there is no room for what you prefer. You play whoever gives you the best chance of winning.

Look I have said this many times...the Rockets are an above average team and there is only so far a group of great role players can carry you. We need McGrady...and the even better thing is that these role players are so good that if we just insert him in there is a chance we can have a great season...not championship season but something ending in a deep playoff run.

So for now I'll choose to believe that he isn't ready to play basketball. I am sure his knee is ready but as far as the game goes...he isn't. I am not gonna believe Adelman won't play him...winning comes first.

I've never thought Adelman was a great fit for this team but at the same time I believe his job so far has been good enough to keep my opinion quiet but even so with T-Mac's track record in terms of injuries, the longer he spends healing the better

Jonathon's interpretion of tweet from Cluthfan:
http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2009/11/rock ... tting.html

there was a tweet by clutch sayin rick doesnt want to play mcgrady. Is there any truth to this?

(He really doesn't give it much thought. He is a coach. They think about the next game. He considers worrying about a player that can't help him a waste of time, answering questions about him a nuisance. And if and when he believes McGrady can help him win, he'll play him. They absolutely don't think that now, and Adelman has enough to worry about to concern himself with someone making a big deal that he really, really wants to play. -- Jonathan)

Adelman will play Tmac if he believe Tmac can help the team win. One point to note is being healthy is not the same as being ready to play NBA basketball game. Tmac's condition is definitely an issue which even Tmac acknowledged that. It seem Adelman believe given the fast paced of the current Rocket game, an out of condition Tmac will not be able to contribute.

i think the rox managenent just don't want to hear those stupid excuses like tmac came back to fast.

if he comes and he sucks or can't play like b4, that means he should not get a big contract.

Maybe it had something to do with that..........'shouting' incident that supposedly happened? haha lol. Seriously though- I think Adelman just doesn't want to rush T-Mac that could result in another injury.

Adelman has a vendetta against McGrady, and it dates back to the season-ending surgery announcement. At this point in his career, McGrady is considered about prolonging his career and getting another contract, whilst everyone in the organization knows that, their primary concern is getting these group of players playing hard.

80% of T-Mac is better than anyone else we have. I say we downplay his greedy ass and make him a super 6th man. If he comes back to play, he'll be great. He'll be granted another contract and this saga will continue to whoever opts to sign him. Let's make him add some victories to our record, but not at the expense of our youth, development, and financial plans. The Rockets need to worry about the Rockets, not specifically McGrady's needs.

I think that even the biggest McGrady haters would be thrilled if he came back accepting a 6th man role. I do think that eventually he'd work his way back into the starting lineup; but right now the idea of a willing and eager McGrady off of the bench makes me a happy Butters.

McGrady doesn't fit into this years team of running in transition. He's fitted for a half court offense and the Rockets are better off not playing him and collecting the insurance money.

Plus Mcgrady threw the team and Keith Jones under the bus last year. Saying the Lakers would win the championship before the Lakers/Rockets series.

Sick of him. My respect for Adelman has risen significantly.

I dont understand all of the TMac Love? The guy basicly screwed us last year and every year around christmas he comes up with some reason not to play. Get his Punk A__ out here. He has never been a good fit anywhere he has been. I can see him know if he where playing hoging up the ball and acting like he is the leader of this Team. Sorry Tmac that ship has sailed you are what you are a guy who should be coming off the bench and not being the highest paid player in the league. I hate KOBE hate him but you can say he is worth every penny that LA pays him, You cant say that for TMAC!!!

^^He is the best player on the team. If we are not gonna trade him..which we won't b/c teams have the nerve to low ball us even though we hold all the cards b/c we can just let his contract expire. So if we aren't gonna trade him and he is healthy then you have to play him.

This isn't about the past or what you may think of McGrady. None of that matters if we can simply but the best team possible on the floor. And that team includes McGrady. This is about winning. Adelman likley isn't playing him b/c he knows McGrady will want to start. So he is gonna make sure he is ready to start...not just play....start.

McGrady can help this team win, and that's what I want to see. Hell, I'd rather see T-Mac hurl up all those shots than Ariza. He'll be on his best behavior, trying his hardest, being as its a contract year. He gives us what we've been missing, which is a consistent perimeter scoring option and someone who we can give the ball to down the stretch.

If this last game didn't show why we need McGrady, I really don't know what will. I've said it throughout the past couple of weeks, NO LEAD IS SAFE with this team, you can be up 30 in a game, and I still think the other team has the ability to strike back and win the game. Incapable of holding leads, no go-to scorer, no 4th quarter closer, nothing great from a ball handling stand point, you need all of these things to effectively win ball games. This team creates leads, makes stops when it needs to, but can't keep increasing the lead, they make costly errors when it comes to turnovers, and when it comes down to it, they have a guy taking 17FGA on 38% shooting as their leading scorer... they need to let McGrady in, at best he helps the team more then he hurts it. Remember, his statistics under Rick Adelman at full health (Start of 2007, sadly) are amazing (26/6/6/47%)...he fits this team, he's stated that he loves this offensive system, using him in the post would help this team in amazing ways.

Agreed. If Tmac can play he should be out on the court. Adelman needs to play him ASAP and forget about what happened last year. Let him get accustomed to the offense and shake off some of the rust so we can make a push for the playoffs.

There's no point for us to be wasting the season like this. Since we're not going to tank for high draft picks then we might as well give Tmac a shot. At this rate we're going to finish just a bit below .500 and probably miss the playoffs. At least with Tmac there's a possibility of making some noise in the playoffs.
