COMMUNITY THREAD X

Post#1 » by snaquille oatmeal » Thu Nov 26, 2009 2:57 am

'tis my pleasure to introduce the new Community thread X. although we miss the FOKKERs, the Mileses, the Davidses, the just add minutes guy, the Kupcakes etc. it is time to pass the torch to new batch of whipper snappers that have taken over and are ruling this incredible forum. keep it up guys and make me proud.

A variety chat thread, a smörgåsbord of non-basketball related topics.

From circumcision to in-n-out double-doubles, cars parts to body parts, tidbits of family life to tales of hellbound hedonism. Anything goes.

A place to get to know some of the posters, kick up the feet, toss back a few, shoot the easy breezy.

Rule 1 of Comm Thread: Nobody talks about the Lakers or NBA related stuff.
Rule 2 of Comm Thread: What's said in Comm Thread stays in Comm Thread.
Rule 3 of Comm Thread: No hackneyed references to Fight Club.

It begins.

Hopefully, a revamp of the CT will get some people to start posting more often again, haha.

Edit: DD, the link to the CT IX isn't working properly - only telling me I can't make a new post since it's locked - just a heads up. :)

here is something different:

about 8 years ago my kid's baby sitter was Phillipina and she introduced us to adobo chicken wings. my wife in her infinate wisdom (bless her heart!) she tried to duplicate the recipe without knowing what she was doing. so her final product became known around the house as 'Black Chicken". surprinsingly it is actually good and we gobble the stuff up at least once a week.

in a large saute pan pour 1 cup of white vinager, 1 cup of soy sauce, 4 table spoons of sugar and 4 table spoons of lemon juice. add as many frozen chicken wings as you can fit cover and cook at medium to low flame for 45 minutes. turn the wings over at the 20 minute mark and serve over white rice.

I made myself an oily fried rice and my stomach feels disgusting. Need to get some soda to wash it away.

I had a Phillipino roommate who made the best adobo. I believe one of the biggest things about it is to put the ingredients in a bag to marinate for at least 6 hours. If you can do over night it's better.
