Wow, AA is dead to me if this goes down. He can grow Sally Boy's mustache and he would still be dead to me if this goes down.

Yep. We have absolutely no need for him on this team...depth at 1B/DH is not at all an issue. It makes absolutely no sense to bring him back. Even talking to him about a return is indefensible.

I'm lost for words. His teammates must really praise his clubhouse influence. But hey, at least Steve Young can be part of Blue Jay nation for another season.

Millar will tutor Lind at 1st when Overbay is moved.

That's the only justification I can think of.

Overbay is being shopped that's a given. Millar is a decent bench player and an even better clubhouse presence. I'm hoping there's something to this rumor that actually looks good for the Jays though.

Unless Millar is being considered as a replacement for Cito Gaston next year, I dont understand this at all.

Can we focus on a catcher please? Oh, and there's that hole in the 1-spot as well....

My understanding is that Millar is a great clubhouse influence.
Since it seems that the team is trying to excuse mediocrity for the next few seasons under the illusion of "building through youth" perhaps having a cheap option like Millar in the clubhouse is not a bad idea.

My issue was not Millar, it was the way Cito used Millar.
If Cito can contain himself its a move I can live with.

Reggie Miller is one of the best pure shooters to ever play. why the hell wouldn't the jays want to sign him?

If we had so many "great clubhouse guys" on our team last year, plus a "player's coach", how come our players revolted at the end of the year?

Define revolted? I think it was more blown out of proportion more than anything, otherwise we'd have a Shea Hillenbrand type situation on our hands.

As someone eluded to, as long as Millar is used sparingly, I don't mind the move.

reĀ·volt (r-vlt):
7) In baseball, when multiple players admit to sources in the media that they believe the team needs to change managers, and the anonymous sources claims are not denied by players when asked.

Even if you don't want to term it a revolt, crap went down that hasn't gone down on any team I can remember in recent memory. For a team with so many "great clubhouse guys" and a "players coach", they seems to have done **** all to make a good clubhouse environment.

Has Cito given anybody any reason to think Millar will be used sparingly? And even so, instead of carrying Kevin "Clubhouse" Millar, wouldn't it be better to carry a Rule 5 draft guy who, you know, might be useful to the team, this year or in the future? I would rather use the spot to carry some player whose team thought he was too unprepared for anyone to pick, because both Millar and such a Rule 5 pick will be about as useful at the plate, but the pick might be able to defend somewhere.

Seriously, what is the friggin' point of Millar? Especially with Ruiz emerging as a far better hitter?
Sure, good clubhouse guy but we're rebuilding.

If Overbay is dealt, I'd like to see AA swipe John Bowker from the Giants. He's a young guy that has ripped AAA pitching for a couple of years now but the G's don't seem to have enough confidence to give him a fair shake in the bigs.
