FanBall.com suggests Delonte West is on his way out of Cleve

Post#1 » by deranged » Thu Nov 26, 2009 4:21 pm

Hi everyone, sorry if this is a drawn out topic, but why isn't Delonte getting any playing time?

We all know about the weapons charges and the beating up his girlfriend, but neither the NBA nor the Cavs have formally suspended him.
He played 4 minutes on Nov 21st, and 21minutes on the Nov 18th, but then gets sporadic DNP-CDs.

He is better defensively than Parker, plays in the system, can change games. Why is he behind boobie in the rotation?

Do you guys know something that I don't?

Gibson is shooting well so he was going to get run anyway. The real reason seems to be that the Cavs are winning and therefore Mike is not going to change rotations significantly until he has to. That being said, West isn't at last years form yet.

Not sure. I'm guessing that Mike Brown knows the odds are high Delonte could be in and out of the lineup with his issues so doesn't want to have a set rotation with him as a primary player or starter.

Also Delonte hasn't played as well in the mins he has gotten this year.

"NEWS: the akron beacon journal is suggesting that the cavs might be preparing for life without troubled guard delonte west. west was a DNP-CD on wednesday despite being active and available.
OUR VIEW: The article points out that daniel gibson and jamario moon are both ahead of west as guards on the depth chart, so he is going to have a tough time seeing the floor for his remaining time with the team. don't be shocked if the cavs try to move him or end up cutting ties before long."

This situation must have gotten worse. He is by far our best on ball defender. I hope we can get this worked out
