i just traded lebron james away. did i get trigger happy?

Post#1 » by deranged » Fri Nov 27, 2009 12:03 am

18 team league. standard 9 cats. 13 players per team so there is NO ONE on waivers.

I traded Lebron James + Tyler Hansbrough for Monta Ellis and Chauncy Billups

My team now:

PG - Rondo
SG - Steph Curry
G - Gilbert Arenas
SF - Dahntay Jones
PF - Jason Thompson
F - Mike Dunleavy
C - Louis Scola
C - Kevin Love
Util - Monta
Util - Billups
BN - Ibaka
BN - Delonte West
BN - Radmonovic

So i think with Monta and Rondo I can lock up stls, Asts are pretty much a lock too.
Rebounds are from Klove, Thompson, Scola each should get me 10/game
punting TOs and BLKs
should be competitive in pts, 3ptm, and %s

what do you guys think?

and PS. i have a PAO GASOL for GILBERT ARENAS + someone else in the works. should I go for it?

Great deal. You really needed the depth (especially with both Love and Dunleavy out).

I would also do the Gasol deal and look to drop both Delonte and Ibaka

I like it. Monta is beasting and Chauncey is an elite player in his own right. Good deal.

Never trade LeBron James unless your getting either Kobe Bryant or (perhaps) Chris Paul. Yes I think it was a bad trade.

I like the second deal. Gasol for Arenas would be great for you.

I agree with the first statement however ... REALLY? ... Arenas is shooting .420 ish from the floor and averagess 4 TO's a game and you think it's a good idea to trade one of the more efficient players for him? ... I'd say heck no to the latter deal.

I had time so I did a more in depth analysis.

added up tyler's + bron's stats and compare them to billups's + monta's stats.
it's pretty even.

monta's stats are a bit inflated because he's playing 48 mins a game right now because GS has only 6 healthy players. hansbrough has nowhere to go but up.

Bron
30 pts - 8 asts - 7 rebs - 1.6 tpm - 1.5 stls - 0.7 blks - 52%FG - 79%FT - 4 TO

Tyler
8pts - 1 asts - 5 rebs - 0 tpm - 0.3 stls - 0.4 blks - 36%FG - 69%FT - 0.8 TO

for

Monta
23 pts - 5.5 asts - 4.4 rebs - 0.6 tpm - 2.5 stls - 0.5 blks - 47%FG - 77%FT - 4 TO

Chauncey
16 pts - 6 asts - 3 rebs - 1.8 tpm - 1.2 stls - 0.1 blks - 39%FG - 92%FT - 2TOs

Check the stats.
PTS=even
ASTS= i win
REBS= i lose
3s=i gain slightly
STLS=i win big
BLKS = i lose slightly
FG%= i lose big (lebron shoots 20 shots@52%
FTs=i win
TO= i lose big

stats are right as of Nov 27th, 09

You traded the best player in the game.. a guy who's bad games are like 20 6 6.. for Monta who's being sold for peak value and Chauncey, who's having a pretty inconsistent season.. btw is it roto or h2h..

another thing is is that you don't deal LeBron or CP3.. that's fantasy rule number one unless youre in like last place with no hope..

Of course you can trade Lebron. He's a player who generates stats, and if you can get players who generate better stats for him, you pull the trigger. Monta Ellis is going absolutely ape **** with Stephen Jackson out of the picture. Billups gives you great depth. I think this trade makes a lot of sense in an 18 team league, where the chances of scooping a solid contributor off waivers are pretty slim.

this is 9 cat h2h.

thanks for all your comments.

As luck would have it, bronbron tweeked his hamstring today vs the bobcats and hansbrough bruised his knee. Lebron would probably not miss time, but i didn't need any more injuries with dunleavy, love out for so long and delonte west getting no burn.
