I bought the PS3 as my Blu Ray player about a year after it was out. At the time it was still the best one available features wise, loading times, price etc...the majority of techies would say the same even over at http://www.avsforum.com/

I'm sure there is better player out by now that is cheaper than a PS3 but I have no idea which one it'd be.

Negotiated REALGM rate for Wizard games.

Post#983 » by DonPatelli » Sat Nov 28, 2009 2:20 pm

Hey guys, hate to make a new topic for this, but I want to help out the fellow REALGMers here, so I'm going to try something new here. I've just taken on the position of Director of Sales at a Hotel in the suburbs of Washington D.C. It is only 2 1/2 years old, it located 15 miles from Verizon Center and less then a mile from metro (underground subway) that will take you directly to The Verizon Center.

With that being said, I'm willing to slide a few rooms away for $69.00 plus tax, believe me thats a steal. Below is the link to our website, it's in the process of being updated (yeah I know its looking a little ruff right now, the webmasters are playing with it) with special packages being thrown in there (the package is going to have wizards games for $89.00 unless of course your a RealGMer. Believe me when I tell you $69.00 is the realgm special rate only (thats acutally our owneres/employee rate). You guys are probably wondering how I'm able to dip the rates for so low without my boss getting upset. Well It is because my family owns it. Contact me directly via private message if you are interested and I will tell you how we can go about setting up your negotiated rate. This is a first come first serve basis. I only have a set amount of rooms I can give away at this rate to maintain my average daily rate. I will be doing this throughout the season for all visiting REALgmers. And if you are ever in Washington D.C. just visiting I'm sure we could working something out very favorable for you. I love my Realgmers! Kind regards.

2K10 fans:

So I'm rocking the "My Player" mode (and loving it) but am not sure what I am missing. The 2K Insider dude keeps telling me that there are teams interested in me and that I have big decisions to make and that he will support me no matter what I do, but nothing happens. Are teams trying to trade for me? Is there a screen that I am missing? What am I meant to be doing?

Also, someone asked many pages ago what the best jumpshot style is? I find "springs" to be the best by far. It's a lot easier to time than the others.

From what I've read on OS, the mode is pretty glitchy. Chabber probably knows more, I haven't gotten too involved in that mode.

The same thing has happened to me multiple times since I got signed to a contract after not making the training camp cut. Randomly after I have a great game, That little message will pop up and I can't figure out what to do.

I was the one that asked about the jumpshot thing, but I've grown to really like Roger Mason's shot (and him overall in the game, dude is a great 2nd stringer)

I really have no idea slam. Like Walt said the mode has a lot of glitches. For instance there is a clone of my player playing for the Kings. I was drafted by the Thunder and made the roster after training camp so I don't know anything about how you sign with teams.

I guess the question to ask is are you playing in the D-League? If so I'd assume you have offers to look at from teams.

I was drafted in the 2nd round 3rd over all by the Pistons. Didn't make their roster, but made the Sun's roster. Then at the end of my 1st season I had the choice of 4 teams to play for and went with the Heat - but it's during the season I always seem to get the message about having to make a decision because teams are interested in me.

Also, when the Jordan Brand player of the game is announced there is a large black box that appears - like the should be footage or images in it but there never is. It's just a large black box. It's weird.

Finally, I think the progressive season tally's are off. I notice my career pts totals don't always go up.

Sketchy as hell.

I still rock the snot out of it though!!

So you're probably a sought after player at this point since you finished a season and other teams want you. Still I'm not sure why you'd be getting messages during the year when you have no control over where you can go until the off-season or unless you get cut. Probably another bug.

When watching the Jordan Brand POTG is it like that during regular quick games too or only during My Player mode? If it's both then do you have a hard drive for your xbox or are you using a memory card?

I know the stats for my player aren't right because the clone of my players stats are averaged with mine. I don't know if you are experiencing the same problem or an entirely different one.

Glad you are enjoying it though. I need to get back in and play some more my player but I've just been playing quick games every so often. I like what they did with the patch as far as game AI on the court but the my player bugs that were supposed to be fixed didn't seem to work out quite as well as they said it would.

Also I thought I sent BigSlam11 a friend invite a while back for xbox live. Do you not sign on often or maybe I sent it to the wrong name?

I use a memory card (I just have the arcade version). I don't really play quick games. Only ever My Player or Association mode.

I don't sign onto Live that often but I will this Friday night and see if there is an invite there.

The game is great. My only problem is with the rebounding, but that seems to be a yearly thing. I'm reallym really enjoying the My PLayer mode - although I do wish you could go to an agent or GM etc and request a trade. That would be pretty sweet!!

I got my first start last night! Loving it!

Averageing 19ppg, 4rpg, 4apg and 1.5 steals per game - made the all rookie team last season too!

The game stores all the plays throughout the game on the hard drive and you can look at any of them after the game. I assume that is also why there is a black box instead of highlights because it probably won't work with a memory card.

If you do sign into live make sure you put in your 2K10 disc and get the patch that is out now. You may have already done this but it makes a world of difference as far as how the game plays with defensive rotations, player tendencies etc..

That sounds great though and those are some nice stats. Looks like you are having a good time playing with Wade. Unfortunately I don't know if my stats will every be correct due to my annoying clone. However I'm about 15 games in backing up Westbrook and I'm just having fun playing with the Thunder and being part of an up and coming team. I don't know if I'll ever supplant him in the starting lineup but maybe they could shift him to SG and keep letting Harden come off the bench.

Before the patch I was using some from a guy named Playmakers over at the OS Forums. Since then I haven't played too much but I just went back to default sliders and made some of my own tweaks. Eventually I'll get around to trying some new ones out for post patch.

http://www.operationsports.com/forums/nba-2k-sliders/ That's a good place to look if you are wanting to try out different sliders.

Thanks for that. I uploaded some dudes (his were the most uploaded so I went with them), made some adjustments and I like where I have them now.

It's hard to find a great balance though.

Yeah it really is. Most of those guys are looking for a more realistic less flashy type game and it can change things up a lot. Some things they do I like and others I don't so even though I might use them as a base I'll usually tweak some stuff myself to make sure it still plays the way I enjoy.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm thinking I'll go with the LG BD390: http://reviews.cnet.com/blu-ray-players ... ontentBody

Excellent image quality and load times, n-draft wi-fi and a load of features. THAT SAID, the price has increased since I discovered it during the Pacer game and it was already pretty pricey.
