Grevis went from being a potential 2nd rounder to not even being a bubble-pick with the way that he has been playing.

If we don't beat Indiana AND Villanova this team might already be looking forward to watching the tournament on the Maryland dining hall TV sets. An NCAA resume that boasts Fairfield and Chaminade as your best out of conference wins isn't exactly gonna make the committee have a hard on for you.

Friedgen back at Maryland

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4703106

Ironically, Bobby Bowden's retirement is announced the same day.

(Joe Paterno's probably thinking a couple more wins and he can die now. Like the Fridge, he's outlasted Bobby.)
The Wizards shoukd have drafted Derik Queen

I told you so :banghead:

Impressive road win vs. Indiana. It's a team we should beat but a tough environment nonetheless. We just took over in the 2nd half.

Oh, and really nice to see Vasquez get his shooting touch back last night. I was worried for a little bit.

HAVE to beat Villanova. Well...maybe we don't HAVE to but it would take a lot of pressure off us come ACC time. We just can't have another Morgan State loss this year or we're totally screwed.

Nice game for Sean Mosley in a losing effort against Villanova. 11-14 FGM-A & 3-4 3 pointers for 26 pts.

Every once in a while Mosley looks like a NBA prospect. He's the only one on the roster who shows 1st round type of tools. He needs be consistent with his aggressiveness but It's in him.

He's far and away the team's MVP, so far this season. His only big negative is his lack of a jump shot, and I think he's only 6'4 - though very well built. He is a great... defensive player and penetrates fairly well for a guy who hasn't shown he can shoot with any range. Vazquez - as well as Bowie - has played terribly this season. He's just gotta play smarter for the team to excell. Williams is developing nicely at C, and Gregory will give them a defender/rebounder up front.

Greivis Vasquez seems to be having a case of Gilbert Arenas-itis, except without the knee injury as an excuse. Vasquez came back to Maryland for his senior year to complete the job, not only to help the Terps redeem themselves after last year's often frustrating campaign but quite frankly to get himself ready for the NBA Draft next June. He went through all the NBA workouts last spring after declaring and eventually backing out, learning the things he had to work on -- mainly, shooting a higher percentage and committing fewer turnovers -- and where's it landed him? With a low shooting percentage (.323) and a nasty-high number of turnovers (3.8 per game).

I still like Vazquez, but this team's success or failure comes down to are front court play. Do they really develop into capable rebounders or defenders or are we in shoot outs without the shooters to keep up?

Landon Milbourne is a guy who has crept into 2nd round mocks (nbadraft.net). Even money says that he might be drafted ahead of or instead of Vazquez. Gotta love a solid 4-year player.

Doesn't surprise me. Vasquez shares another Arenas trait (other than a bad start to the season) - he's wildly inconsistent.

He's also fairly un-athletic which is almost a must-have if you want to be drafted into the NBA.

I think both Grevis and Milbourn will make a lot of money playing basketball... overseas. Actually, I think Hayes will, as well - His game is built for the Euro style. But I'm gonna love watching the rest of their senior seasons. All of the pieces are coming together now, and I think MD's going to finish top 3 in the ACC.

Forget Gilbert; Clemson's going to face the rath of moral Terpitude tonight!

That was one of the worst games I've ever seen. How many combined turnovers? 50? More than 50?

Vasquez was a no-show and let a role player dominate him defensively. Milbourne not very effective either. Stupid plays abound.

The commentators were saying that we exerted so much energy coming back from an 11pt deficit that we just ran out of gas, but we remained fairly consistently sucky all game long.

If we had won, we would have been in the top-25. Damn it.

It was so bad that I watched the whole thing... then actually turned it off with about three minutes to go. The ball handling suckitude was too much to deal with. Even with the game on the line, it was unwatchable.

Both teams sucked so badly that it almost seemed as if the ball were overinflated or something. So many unforced turnovers... balls bouncing off hands, feet, referees, whatever.

If only Harvey Grant could jump like his son (nephew?).

Cavs- Tar Heels nightcap was a beauty though. I really like watching Virginia this year.

I was half asleep for the game so I wasn't nearly as pissed as I should've been but....WOW. Just when MD hooks you, makes you believe they're for real they smash your beating heart to pieces. Happens EVERY year. They have to split this road trip or things are going to start looking really bad for this team.

came out extremely flat tonight. Hayes with a fat goose egg, Mosley still invisible, Miblourne out matched...

and we WON!!!! 8-3 in the ACC (no matter what your opinion on the strength of the league is) feels pretty damn good. Our next 2 are at home against formidable opponents in Georgia Tech and Clemson. If we can split or somehow win BOTH we're looking pretty damn good come tournament time. GO TERPS!!!!
