Who would consider Darko Milicic?
I was just reading that he has an attitude. He plays defense and he's a decent passer. Plus, he's still only 24. Not that he would be the best option, but he'd be a lot nicer to have than fat Sean May.

MEH. Maybe for an unguaranteed vet minimum. Darko, unfortunately, will be infected by the attitude of being taken at #2 overall in the draft. I'm not sure if he will be able to accept being a role-playing b/u center.

Ehh, not worth it. I'd love to have the size, but not the attitude, and I'd rather get someone with some experience.

Yeah. Did you read that BS that he spouted in that article? Whatever dude. Like anyone WOULDN'T want to be a #2 overall pick with the $$$$ and the fame. The only thing better would be #1.

I wouldn't mind bringing him in. He'd certainly bring that shotblocker we could use. Much rather just have his contract though! Andres for Darko!

I wanted to sign him back when he was a FA after Orlando, but it's been 3 years and he still hasn't broken out, it's more likely that he never will.

In the offseason, if it's for a cheap and short contract, sure. Why not? And I remember he said in a interview the Kings was his favourite team when he was drafted because of Peja and Vlade.
But right now, I don't see any way to get him. The only way is giving the Knicks another expiring, but someone who can play for D'Antoni, and Kenny isn't that guy. They don't want any contract past-2010, and we aren't going to trade Martin for Milicic because they have nothing to sweeten the deal.

Replace a late lottery bust with an early lottery bust with an attitude from having to live in the shadow of LBJ, Wade, Melo and Bosh? I'll pass.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Replace? I guess we can't have a back up center then...

I was hoping that his attitude would be mistook for toughness that might rub off on the team. Especially Spencer "the three point line is in the paint" Hawes.

There's a difference between an attitude of toughness and and an attitude of prima dona cry baby. I have never seen Darko as having anything more than a cry baby attitude.
And Zar, who says we "can't have a back up center"? I wholeheartedly want the team to have a back up center...I just don't want Darko in that role. Go out and trade for a young guy with potential to assume a back up role for now and the future...or, trade for a quality defensive-minded starter and move Hawes to the bench. There are a lot of options for a back up center...I just don't see Darko as a legitimate or wise option.

I didn't know what did you mean with 'replace a late lottery bust with an early lottery bust with an attitude', I thought it was a shot at Hawes.

Re: Who would consider Darko Milicic?
No...late lottery bust = May. Early lottery bust with an attitude = Darko. I'm not categorizing Hawes as a bust, although I know there are some here who do. I think he's a mediocre starter or good bench guy.

Re: Who would consider Darko Milicic?
You guys have it all wrong. Re-read the Article. All the kid wants is to play! He's on an expiring, and he did not once mention that he needs PT so he can gain a contract. He simply states that he wants to play. He mentioned that he's come to terms that he will not get much PT in the NBA, so he will consider Europe. All he wants is to play basketball. Re-read the article. There is no evidence of a Prima-dona attitude. Just a 24 year old kid that wants to play. And if he can't do it here, Europe is the only other option.
Will you fools ever realize that when the cameras are on and the microphones are hot, they are Lying to you! Lying to illicit a prescribed reaction, to easier manipulate you.

I think we could trade one of the Beno/Garcia/Noci for Darko. For a cheap backup center Darko would be solid and young enough to grow with the young core.

I might do Darko for Sergio and Thomas, but the Knicks aren't taking long-term contracts for mediocre players.

Why would anyone want Darko? he's a stubborn/immature young player who will never develop into what he truly could become.... BUST!
