Their salaries are similar. Jose is a better pure shooter, play maker, and more efficient.

I dont think too many pacer fans would argue with that trade. Would toronto want him back though?

TJ has a better contract I think shorter by a year or 2. But Jose is a better PG.

TJ plays some defense. Calderon wold give us way more consistency. His assist numbers would take a dip because Obie's system is very anti-padding in that category.

It depends if the Pacers think they have shot at Chris Paul when he hits free agency.

Honestly, as a Raps fan I'd take TJ back because he fits a need on our team. I don't necessarily believe he's as good a player as Jose but sometimes the need overpowers the want, which is the case here.

^ I would take him back too, and I honestly believe he is a better player than Jose. The only thing Jose has over TJ is his three point shot.

My only hesitation in making this trade is the length and size of Jose's contract. You are giving away a healthy chuck of the 2011 flexibility and do you want to be tied to Caulderon for 4 years? Take a guy like Steve Blake (a free agent after this season). He could likely be signed for about half the money and you would get basically the same player.

Chris Paul is not a free agent till 2012-13. I'm thinking he is seriously disgruntalled in NO since they fired Byron Scott, he played one game after the Scott firing and then got his ankle hurt. Makes me wonder if he really wants to be there? We could put together a decent package for Paul. Keep in mind his BYC1 status is gonna make him really hard to trade this season, so if he's demanding a trade out of NO I'd be investigating a deal to get him. I posted this in the Trade thread 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Now that Dun is back we could offer them a TJ, MDJ and Rush plus a draft pick, package for Paul and filler like Songaila.

Chris Paul's looming free agency is another reason why I want Byronn Scott. The time our big contracts come off the books should be right around the time he becomes a free agent. I don't see NO trading him until he has a year or two left on his deal, and they are for sure going to lose him.

We need a starting PG who has a 3-pt shot and who can pass...

Yeah, I hadn't even thought of that. Hopefully New Orleans doesn't get a coach that CP3 likes if we do get Scott. Hopefully by then we will have a PG for the future, though!
