Just once, before he retires, I'll like to read about Pierce being talked about for regular season MVP. Even if he has zero chance to win, at least a few votes would suffice.

Unfortunately, when Pierce had the better statistics, the team was mostly mediocre.

Though Celtics coach Doc Rivers says Paul Pierce is having an MVP season, it is far too early in the season to make such projections, nor are Pierce’s statistics impressive enough to place him in serious consideration.

“He’s the MVP in the league as far as I’m concerned,’’ Rivers said. “Just all the things - leadership, preparation, his intensity on the floor, scoring, assisting. Even on nights he didn’t have big numbers, he made the timely baskets or made a timely defensive play. He’s just been very impressive.
