Beno Udrih
What does everyone think of him as the 6th man? I think he could thrive in that role.

I like it. Especially becasue that is what he is going to be when Martin is back. I like a guard rotation of Evans/Martin/Udrih/SRod. They all do a lot of different things.

Stick to the topic please. If you wanna talk about trading Martin there is already somewhere you can go and do that. This is a discussion about Beno Udrih.

Beno Udrih has 2 rings as a back up PG. He knows what he's doing.

I've been really impressed by him recently, he hasn't played like this since Bibby was here. If it wasn't for him, we would have lost to the Nets.

Re: Beno Udrih
Again I don't think anyone questioned Beno's ability to play. The question is consistency. Having him in the backup role I think limits his wild play and he can be used in better situations.
KANGZZZZZ!

Beno is an average starter but a very good back up. He seems to be comfortable in that role and donte seems to play better as a starter. I think while kevin is out thats how it should be. I love him having this role except for the fact that he is making starter money.

I don't see anything wrong with his contract with a bench role. Isn't Jason Terry making starter money? I know they are not the same player but I can see Beno having that role with us.
His pull up jumper at the foul line has been deadly so far this season. He has tremendous confidence in his shot right now as well.
I wanna know what you guys think will happen when Kevin and Francisco return. What happens with Donte?

ROFL!!!
Right now, Beno is putting up comparable numbers to Terry (who I have NEVER been very impressed by BTW), and he can guard bigger guys to free Tyreke to wreak havoc with the PG's.
I'd say for the moment he's earning his keep!

Francisco is going to be out for a long time. Kevin Martin will be fine. I think we'll be even better when he gets back because we know what we can do without him. Nocioni will hopefully be traded. That'll clear up a little space.

Ya I think Kev will fit back in fine, but I'm not sure where Cisco fits in atm. I love the guy, but with all the wing players we have now, I don't see a spot for him. Dunno, will be interesting to see what coach does with the rotation.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
That just happened.

I think we should officially make Beno's nickname:
Beno "I'm gonna make LoserX look like an a$$hole for doubting me" Udrih.

And 95% of the board too (the other 5% didn't have an opinion). But I see people (non Kings fans) still can't (or don't want to) believe what he is doing this year.
I really hope he can play like he is all the season, not sure if he will coming from the bench.

Bahaha. All I've ever said is that he was mediocre, and has negative value due to his contract. If he continues to play like this consistently, I can willingly revise the "mediocre" portion. (An assessment you agreed with numerous times, by the way.)
And I don't think you really want to get into a "who was wrong" battle...I have a pretty good memory

Don't worry, I'm sure you can dig up several old posts from Smills on this board where he's bashing Beno. His homerism is only overshadowed by his obvious flip-flopping opinion on players depending on the "audience".
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Oh sure, I won't refute that. He pissed me off royally last year, but I STILL defended him constantly last year in spite of being frustrated by him, because I knew he was better than he was playing last year.

Might want to check again. Some quotes from me:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=953017&p=21065610
October 30, 2009: "No chance they (the Lakers) trade an expiring for a mediocre player like Udrih."
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=956690&p=21191625
November 10, 2009: "Just call him "mediocre" from now on and everyone will be on the same page."
And my favourite (remember, this is me saying this):
viewtopic.php?f=2&p=18289963
January 16, 2009: "Udrih isn't terrible...he's mediocre."
This stuff isn't difficult to find, Smills. I think you are perhaps remembering things the way you want to remember them.

Next step: rise from 'mediocre' to 'decent' at the end of the season. Go Beno!!!
