JJ + Teague + future draft for D. Williams + Harpring (for cap purpose)
D.Williams - Bibby
Crawford - FA (IVERSON...just joking)- Evans...room for Wade next year? (S&T Bibby + crawford for wade)
M.Williams - Harpring - Evans
Smith- Smith- Zaza
Horford - Morris- Collins
Biiby becomes the punch of the bench... don't like the fact that JJ does not share the ball enough anymore and that it affects Smoothe who is trying to play right but interestingly passed twice on Joe wide opened during today's game.
Now you have a nucleus of 4 guys the same age and add vets around it...

sure, why not...... but i think you would have a better shot at getting Chris Paul for Joe. I don't see why Utah wants to do this unless they want to rebuild for some reason. Hornets on the other hands, with the bad economy , might want to get rid of some big contracts, but that is a big "if"

Re: ATL/UTAH
rumor has it that orlando will be interested in 2 free agents next summer, both from the SE in JJ and wade. i understand we don't have the cap space, but otis has set us up nicely for next summer with a number of assets.
i know you wouldnt do anything to help a division rival, especially one already in the top 3 or 4 teams in the league, but what if jj said he wanted to come to orlando, would you do the following ST deal?
gortat+bass+cash
for
JJ
i obviously understand that you arent getting the talent level in return, but you wouldnt have much leverage because its either that or you lose him for nothing. gortat is one of the best, if not the best back up center's in the league, and could start on more than half of the nba teams. same could be said for bass, and they would be good pieces to add to your nucleus, and they are both young
bibby/teague
crawford/mo
marvin/draft
smoothe/bass/joe
al/gortat/zaza
you would have one of the deepest front courts in the league and could challenge us because of that depth that you could throw at dwight.

The Hawks would be better making JJ go to a team other than the Magic than Taking those 2 in return.

Re: ATL/UTAH
If JJ said he wants to go to Orlando and it can only happen via s&t, then he is just out of luck. You do not trade your best player to a division rival for their backups.
To the original post, Miami would probably be better off letting Wade walk than to take on Bibby and Crawford. They could give themselves a ton of cap space and set up to rebuild. Getting Bibby and Crawford is just delaying in inevitable.

Aye, the Jazz have a chance at a number 1 pick. Add that to the prospect of having both Boozer's and DWill/JJ's contract come off the books on a crazily lux tax strapped team with zero hopes of actually contending and I'd say they'd make the deal and rebuild with pick and capspace.

Jerry Sloan would be absolutely perfect for a player like Joe. Problem is, I don't believe Joe'd ever go there.
Add in that UTAH would probably never trade an all-star-level PG....
Which brings me to: can anyone here imagine Jerry Sloan coaching THIS ATL team?

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
