GDT Pacers vs. Warriors 11/30/09

Post#1 » by chatard5 » Tue Dec 1, 2009 3:40 am

Game is about to start. Thought I would stop by and see who was watching. Then I saw that I am signed-up for the thread! I have been busy lately and haven't been able to be around, but I will at least edit this with some good pics or something.

The struggling Indiana Pacers hope they're finally getting healthy enough to compete at a high level.

The Golden State Warriors have struggled to play at that level all season.

Indiana looks for its first season sweep of Golden State since 2005-06 on Monday night when it faces a Warriors team coming off its worst home loss in three seasons.

Making his season debut after undergoing knee surgery in March, Pacers forward Mike Dunleavy hit 4 of 7 from the field and scored 13 points Friday in a 113-92 loss to Dallas.

"I could have played more (than 15 minutes), but I think with the way the game went, they decided not to play me more. So far so good," said Dunleavy, who returns to Oakland where he played his first four-plus seasons before being traded in Indiana during the 2006-07 season.

The Pacers (6-8), though, lost their fifth in six games Friday.

"We did not play tough enough. That's why we got pounded," coach Jim O'Brien said after Indiana was outrebounded 54-33. "You have to play with tremendous force and we did not."

Pacers leading scorer Danny Granger also returned to the lineup after missing Wednesday's 86-73 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Granger, who scored 20 points on 5 of 16 shooting versus the Mavericks, had 31 points and a career-high 16 rebounds in a 108-94 victory over the visiting Warriors on Nov. 11.

Granger is averaging 38.0 points and 11.3 rebounds in his last three games against Golden State, including a career-high 42-point effort in the Pacers' last visit to Oracle Arena -- a 120-117 win on Jan. 14.

I think he likes the D of Foster starting. I know he wanted Foster to start against Toronto to defend Bosh and his jump shot.

Good, I have tomorrow's thread, too, so I can redeem myself! I am busy flipping between the Pacers and Saints right now.

Saints are beastly. If the Colts and Saints meet in the Superbowl, I am legitimately worried.

I don't have NBATV. How come League Pass Broadband won't let me watch this? ARGH!! Gamecast time.

It's on NBATV? For some reason I thought when it was on NBATV it wasn't on Fox Sports Indiana.

Oh yeah, and the Saints' offense looks incredible. A couple huuuge pass plays, one of which would happen to the Colts almost never, and the other the Colts COULD probably stop. Some of this passing is just indefensible. Back to Pacer talk, though, and the lack of a headband now on Granger's head.

I need to find evidence of this headband. Also, why is it always scoring PG's that dominate us like Ramon Sessions and Monta Ellis? And I saw that Foster got a flagrant. What happened?

It was a good call on Foster. I think it was Morrow driving and Foster just fouled him hard without even going for the ball. It was a terrible flagrant or anything, but Kellogg agreed with the call.

I like How TJ Ford is tied with Foster as assist leader.

They are on a tear to start the 4th. TO's and bad shots from us, made treys from them. Monta Ellis has too many points.

Daaaaang, Anthony Morrow has a huuuge gap between his teeth. Maybe even bigger than Michael Strahan, seriously. I've never noticed that.

Glad to see MDJ is looking good, but this team just appears to be missing something.

Return to Indiana Pacers
