Re: Around The League 11/29
My consolation to the Packers getting knocked out of the playoffs (assuming they make them) is going to be Drew Brees picking apart the Queens secondary. Brees is possessed this season and deserves a ring.

Re: Around The League 11/29
People started talking about how Favre had to be the front-runner for MVP because of the TD:INT ratio that he's posted with their wins, and Peyton seemed to be the other guy to talk about. I was starting to wonder if people were forgetting about Drew Brees and what he's doing with the Saints. I have a feeling this performance will get him back into the discussion. What he does is unbelievable. 13/15 for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns tonight against the Pats. Just threw an endzone strike to Darnell friggin' Dinkins.

Brees should be at the top of the MVP discussion with his play. That offense is unreal.

As much as it stings to say, he's the MVP right now

Wow I would rather play Minnesota!! I dont see a chance we lose to NO by anything less then 20, at least with Minnesota we can pray for a Favre hiccup

Re: Around The League 11/29
Outside of the Packers making the Super Bowl, I'd love to see a Saints/Colts match up. It would be great to see Brees and Manning go back and forth trying to out sling the other.

Man, it seems like whenever Sharper goes to a new team he is re-energized and becomes a pro bowler again. I thought he didn't have much when the Pack let him go, then I thought the same when the Queens let him go. Dude is just a stud.

I can't stand Tom Brady, so I really enjoyed this game.

Yup, especially playing them down in New Orleans. They're just too explosive. If Minnesota has to play them down there, they'll get blown out. Minnesota's secondary is the weakest link on its team (yet to be completely exposed) and that's exactly the type of game in which Favre would feel the need to do something spectacular to keep up. We know how that usually ends.

If the Packers can't make it out of the NFC, watching the Saints dismantle the Vikings will more than makeup for it. And I agree, if they go down there, they will have to score 35 minimum to win, and that means a lot of Favre throws against road dome crowd noise. That usually doesn't end well.

Same with the Colts, IMO. It will be a shootout and Bart will try to do too much.
Its hard to see Minny getting past those two teams if that is how it works out.

Not only was I a big Darren Sharper fan last night, but this scenario would make me one again... Brent is finding unique ways to turn my football world upside down.

Re: Around The League 11/29
Speaking of former Packers now with the Saints, Mike McKenzie came out of no where to play a heck of a game for them last night. He obviously stayed in pretty good playing shape despite not playing football for the greater part of the season.

Re: Around The League 11/29
I was in attendance of the Panthers @ Jets game this Sunday and thank god we do not have the New York state of mind when it comes to sports.
In one way, it is good. They expect to be handed and win everything. Sometimes that turns into the Yankees or Giants doing everything in their power to win a title.
Talking sports with my girlfriend's family, they won't even bother watching when a team is 5-6 with a rookie QB, etc.
They were brutally harsh in regard to Sanchez. When he went down with an ankle injury, a few people in my section stood up yelling for him to stay down. Most of them hate him already because he is struggling as a rookie. Ridiculous. They were brutal towards him. A few respectful fans in my section also were supportive but they still basically expect him to be a superstar soon or he is a failure.
Hilarious, because I was talking with her family and others when the Jets were 3-0 and they were already ready to retire his number even though he clearly had no impact on their early wins other than managing the games.
There were a lot of empty seats. Not extremely noticeable, but there were sparse pockets of empty seats.
There are probably stupid fans for every team, but when Clemens came in for a series and his first throw was one of those plays where nobody was open so he purposely just grounded it into the feet in front of his running back...half my section stood up and yelled "MAYBE WE DO WANT SANCHEZ BACK IN THERE!!!!!!"
Ridiculous. Whatever, they'll have their way with the uncapped years approaching.

I thought the same thing in the overreacting topic, but that is a sample of some dedicated fans.
This was basically EVERYONE just assuming that they had to be the best and that even goes for the rookie QB being thrown into the fire.

PS - I'm sure most know this, and I had always heard this, but man the Meadowlands sports area is really in the middle of nothingness.
