Trade advice - big players involved

Post#1 » by dvst8r » Tue Dec 1, 2009 4:23 am

Need advice on what I should do - the following trade has been proposed:

My - Monta Ellis and Carlos Boozer
His - Jamal Crawford and Dirk Nowitzki

ESPN 9 cat league, H2H, we play 1 at each position and a utility...the rest of my team:

Dwyane Wade
Gerald Wallace
Channing Frye
Chauncey Billups
Andris Biedrins
LaMarcus Aldridge
Greg Oden
Mike Miller
Ersan Ilyasova
Jason Williams

Should I do it? I'd love to have Dirk on my team, but I don't know if I should do this trade. Another concern is we start playoffs week of March 15th and Dirk only plays 2 games that week whereas Boozer plays 4.

What should I do?

I wouldn't do it. Boozer and Monta are coming on too strong as of late.

I would do it. Sell high on Monta and Boozer. I don't see both of them being this good all season. Dirk is risk free and I think Crawford is great.

Ask for someone slightly better than crawford. Boozer and Monta are both not as good as Dirk, but Jamal's nowhere in the scenario. If you could get a ray allen, aldridge, scola type throw in I'd do it, but not Monta and Boozer for dirk.

Pass.

I think Boozer can maintain his numbers, especially with the fact that he is looking for some $ in the offseason. And Monta shall sustain those kind of numbers, being a no.1 option on offense in Nelly's system.

Try this though:
Ilyasova + Jason Williams for Crawford
Ilyasova + Miller for Morrow
Monta + Aldridge for Dirk

I can see 6 solid cats for your team. And three really weak ones. (3pts, Assists and FT%). If you're looking to improve those stats, try exploring trading D-wade for Nash or Deron + Player upgrades. Or better yet, try buying low on Joe Johnson or Jennings. Coz' both has been struggling lately. He can provide good 3pt made, assists and FT% on your team. :D

Thanks for the advice guys...but I think you made it harder to decide lol!

Don't really care about Crawford, he's basically throw in - I'll see who else he has to offer, but I'm thinking noone great. Plus losing Ellis would really blow my depth at PG/SG so Crawford is great as he has both positions covered.

Crazylf: I don't think he'll go for the Aldridge replace on Boozer.

I think I'll lean to declining the trade. Thanks again everyone!
