I have a feeling The Road is going to be my favorite movie of this year. From all that I have heard I might want to give the book a read also.

Classy response about Pollin by Chris Webber on NBA TV.

Feeling much better suddenly since I discovered my defective iPod
is still under warranty. Yippee. I'm betting I make out real well on this
one with possibly a replacement with a better/bigger one.

This is a good lesson for me to make sure I buy the extended
warranties for the other iPods in the family. I'll add that extended
warranties are often not good purchases. iPods may be the exception
to that rule, especially if you take yours everywhere like I do.

Seriously...'The Who' playing at halftime of the Super Bowl...seriously? I realize they're not booking Adam Lambert but the last few years have been geezer-central.

Okay...I have to totally take this back. It was weird seeing her as a blonde in 30 second promos for "The Blind Side". But after actually watching the movie and getting a full 2 hours of her...OMG! She was absolutely smokin' in that movie. The hair, the legs, the sassy southern accent. I gotta get down to Ole Miss! :P

The first two posts of this thread on the Philadelphia Board basically summarize perfectly the Eddie Jordan debate this board has had for the past few years....

viewtopic.php?f=26&t=962908

The first post (representing the anti-EJ crowd)...

It's about time. They play a lot worse than they did last year and Cheeks got fired. We play no defense at all. He chooses offense over defense but this team is built to rebound and defend. He refuses to go to missmatches in games. He goes small, yet crys after games about rebounding. He puts Young at the 4 at the worst possible time.

He chooses Willie Green over Holiday. The last one had a + 10 and defended Parker way better than Green. His whole coaching is a joke. He calls Brand not ready for 40minutes and a game later he dominates on both ends of the court. He has no right to be here any time longer.

As long as this coach is on this team we're not going to get better. Put DiLeo back in or anyone else. Just fire Jordan already..

The second post (representing the pro-EJ crowd)...

Isn't it a little premature to be calling for his head with only 20% of the games played? Sure, people are not happy with the teams performance, but our two best big men have missed games, our best guard is about to be out for 2 months, and everyone is adapting to a new (ahem) system. Even Randy Ayers got longer than this.

Can't remember what length of contract was given to EJ, but given the state of the team's attendance, I doubt that we give up on him this quickly, especially since we are still paying Cheeks.

You'll have to be a little bit more patient, I'm afraid.

Picking up on Crit thread where people were talking about mispellings, anybody else get annoyed like me when pro-athletes always say "We was..." I mean listen to any of the Wizards interviews. Its like they never even attended first grade. Some reporter needs to have the balls to tell them proper grammar is "we were".

Yeah that'll work great.

Mesomorph with income greater than the GDP of Yemen:
"We was getting our ass handed to us in the 4th quarter, but Pooh started hittin them threes and you know..."

Schlub with mustard stain on his shirt:
"We were"

Six-foot-nine dude with misspelled words and the chinese symbol for 'corn' tattooed on his neck: [pause]
"... You was what?"

Shortsleeve shirt with a tie, shortie socks with loafers from Sears:
"'No, 'we were' getting our rears handed to us'... you said 'we was'... "

True Warier:
"You was? Ni99a you wasn't doing shxt? You was sittin on your ass eating hot dogs and spilling diet coke on a keyboard. We was. My ass was checking Shaq, where the f#ck you at?"

Community school grad (BA English) with a 1987 Datsun 2-door coupe:
"No you misused the word. You should say 'we were' not "we was". It's a common mistake "

XYY-chromosome former gang member with near sociopathic narcisissm:
"Motherf234er YOU a common mistake. You can't ask me no more questions. We was."

Soon to be freelance blogger working in a dying industry:
"Can't ask you 'any' more questions".

Idol of millions:
"Exactly".

What, we have a shortage of Eddie Jordan related threads around here that you could throw that into or something?

Wasn't about to revive a dead thread for something this unimportant. But it just made me laugh so I put it into the Random Thought Thread.
