Kings get a Big Trade Idea

Post#1 » by bigboi1play » Wed Dec 2, 2009 7:36 am

I see we're one big away from being a playoff contending team, I'm trying to figure a trade out that gets us that big. I see Bosh being that piece. I was thinking could the Kings get Bosh from the Raptors in a deal like:

Kings receive:
Chris Bosh (signs extension)

Raptors receive:
S. Hawes
K. Martin
K. Thomas (expiring)
2011 1st round pick

Could something be made to get this deal done? They get pieces to build with and get salary cap, while we get our big for years to come.

Starting line up would be:
PG: T. Evans, B. Udrith, S. Rodriguez
SG: F. Garcia or B. Udrith
SF: D. Greene or O. Casspri, F. Garcia
PF: J. Thompson, D. Greene or O. Casspri
C: C. Bosh

Go ahead and rip apart, I'm trying to figure a scenario out without having to give up Evans, Thompson, Martin, Greene, and Casspri. But if Martin has to be apart of the deal as long as Bosh is given an extension, I'll take it.

bosh wont sign an extension months away from damn near picking where and with whom he wants to play for. aside from that I realy dont like the thought of bosh playing center for you guys hes a great powerforwad but with so many up and coming centers in the west your going want someone bigger then him to fill the lane.

I agree. And considering he is going to be a free agent, I think the better move is to free cap and try to outright sign him. Imagine adding him and having a starting 5 of Evans, Martin, Nocioni, Bosh & Thompson/Hawes. 50 win team right there.

I know, but just tryin to come up with an idea. Hopefully in FA a big name sees what the Kings can become and signs up. We're just one big away from being over the hump.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, if we could get him without loosing anything, our starting line up could be pretty crazy and with a deep bench we could be in the playoffs next year and then from there, who knows.

Even if Bosh was to resign with SAC i would not do that deal & have to give up both K-MART & HAWES + a big expiring and a 1st rounder there are only 2 players in the entire NBA i would give that much for just to recieve 1 player only in return they are LEBRON & KOBE nobody else !

The only reason I put Martin in the proposal was because people are split on keeping him with the team or getting rid of him. What gets me is the fact that people try to short change us on deals but when we do a deal we're over valuing our players, hell to me Hawes, Thomas , and a 1st round pick should be able to get us a great big.

To be honest, I'm not too familiar with Bosh's game. Can he effectively play the C in most situations? I know JT can in certain situations, but not all the time.

Bosh at center would be a disaster defensively.

Bosh at C would be a disaster period. He is more of a 4 that can swing to the 3, then a 4 that could swing to the 5.

Maybe for the Knicks though.

Who could be a solution at C that would make everyone happy and that is realistic?

I suppose Thompson could work at center. I mean if we're getting Bosh, I suppose we could be flexible.

We can't bank on him signing an extension. If he would sign it here, then we wouldn't have to trade our team.

Get away from Chris Bosh. He is just a stat padder. I've been following Toronto the last couple of years, and yes, he's good, but not that good.

I'm thinking that I don't want to see any major deals. I'm growing attached to the team we have right now and I want to see where we can go. I've been down on Spencer Hawes but he's starting to play well. Jason Thompson is playing well. Reke is a STUD in the making. Back to the bigs we said it would take AT LEAST 3-4 years before they were truly productive, I think with Hawes he's on course but Thompson (age probably a factor as he's 2 years older) seems a little ahead of schedule.

We've all said this team is missing star power. I've been saying it anyway. Well we have a future star and look how everyone is playing around him. I just feel we aren't too far off from being a really good team. If we get one more player that is a star (or even better a future star) then I think we're kind of set.

Ya I'm starting to feel the same way ICMTM. I like the current make-up of our team. And the great thing about it is the majority of them are under 25yrs, and Martin is has plenty of good years left.

The only thing I really see us missing right now is a defensive center. I'm fine with Hawes/Thompson frontline, but it would be nice to have a Okafor sitting back there to block shots, or just to guard some of the stronger players in the league. But thats something we can work on, add later.

Agreed ICMTM. Maybe a small deal like May and a 2nd for Sean Williams. Look to draft a big next year like Monroe, Larry Sanders or Cousins and roll from there. Hopefully Martin comes back and fits in next to Evans and we have a good young core. Evans has really changed the Kings for the better and looks to be a star.

We are missing three things right now:

1) a third seven-footer to b/u the 4/5 (scoring other than garbage clean-up not necessary).

2) time, and

3) national-level publicity for our young players as the next gen of NBA stars

Everything else is gravy and that includes vets who sign with the hopes of being on a playoff team/contender as we get to that point.

Ditto, this team looks to be on the rise and another thing is we have some good young talent that will make a versetile deep bench. Like ICMTM said if we can find one more star, the table will be set.
