There is no way Chandler, Dirk, Howard, Redd or Yao opt out.
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."

you are probably right, but there was talk that Yao might. He is injury prone. But someone would offer more than one year. Say 3 years at $15 million.

why would Yao opt out of his current contract to get a 15 million dollar contract over three years? that's less than the MLE.

edit: or are you talking about 15 million per season over 3 years?

i'm going to assume 3yr 45mill. teams will still throw money at Yao even with the injury prone tag on him. Yao for 60games would be something the wolves have been dying for since we had... Rasho (no offense Ervin Johnson) and would allow an Al trade or a Love trade.

Yao is finished, absolutely kaput, faulty for ever. Forget him. He isn't project of nothing.

BTW, basti, Have you seen the list of "Golden Ball Soccer"?

1 Messi (spanish league)
2 C.Ronaldo (spanish league)
3 Xabi (spanish league)
4 Iniesta (spanish league)
5 Etoo (discard of spanish league)
6 Kaka (spanish league)
7 Ibrahimovic (spanish league)

Where are the Premier's players?

umm just because the 6 of the 7 best players play in the Spanish league doesn't make it the worlds best league.

also I'm sure Ronaldo got this high on the list for the stuff he did in Manchester because how many games has he actually played for Real? 8?10? the same goes for Ibrahimovic and Kaka even though they've been healthy and could play more.

Forget it, man, don't be stubborn or you will be a phucking square head like germans, recognize it and say this with me : the spanish league is the best league ... the spanish league is the soccer's NBA. 8-)

BTW, Why a FA will want play for a 2/15 team? ... forget FAs the next three years ...you can't begin to build by the roof. When minnie has 4/5 good young players playing together, then minnie can talk about FA ... But now? .... please!

Yes, money is fantastic, but people does like other things too : a beatiful sunrise, the peace of the world, the smile of a child, a pretty woman's eyes , win a ring, etc ... and I read in the wikipedia that Minnesota haven't oil wells for pay more than others teams.

But they have the cap space to pay more than other teams.

I don't understand WTF work the NBA's salary cap. In Spain the soccer teams don't have salary cap and always win Real Madrid or Barça ... but in the NBA exists salary cap and always win Lakers or Celtics.

Mmmmmm, yes, I recognize it, I haven't phucking idea about NBA, but surely Minnie's problems don't have solution only with a lot of "salary cap".

The Celtics have won once in 23 years. The Lakers won primarily because they were able to attract Shaq, and they were able to do that because of a number of factor (location, history, and offering a ton of money). The Wolves won't be able to attract a free agent of that caliber, but there's no reason they can't attract 2nd tier free agents.

Then you are saying something and the opposed .. it isn't only money problem ... if minnie want get a top FA, first they must have a winner team foundation with 4/6 young good players playing together, and then they can convince the top FA for sign. This will not happen in 2009 nor 2010.

I doub't Lebron or Wade want repeat the last years scenario.

The salary cap begain in 1984-85 season.

The Lakers and Celtics have won championships since the salary cap was in place, but so have other teams.

Pistons, Bulls, Rockets, Spurs and Heat. All the teams listed except for the Heat have won multiple championships in this time period. Mostly because they had the stars and foundation around it to repeat.

The Wolves aren't signing Wade or Lebron, and I doubt anybody here is seriously considering that scenario. The Wolves are looking at a 2nd tier free agent. You can't wait too long, otherwise you spend the money resigning your own free agent and you have no money under the cap to sign free agents.
