Sherman did many terrible things as GM, but he hit a grand slam with the Kampman choice.Impossible not to respect a guy who plays with the heart and skill he does.

The sad thing is, I'll be the first one to admit I sometimes completely forget about Kampman on this defense. The guy doesn't showboat, he stays away from the media. He's just a quiet, blue collar lineman who happens to be an absolute stud.

I will also admit I wasn't too excited when we signed AK. But the dude is like the energizer bunny, his motor never quits.

Congrats to Aaron!

Those are the kinds of guys I love to root for; the guys that aren't into all the glitz and glamour of the NFL; they come to hit you in the mouth every single Sunday and don't need to gloat about it, they just want to compete and play the game.

The nice thing is that he really isn't old, either. It seems like he's been around forever but he's younger than a lot of the other premier DE's in the game like Peppers, Seymour, Justin Smith, Ogunleye, Charles Grant and others. He's only three months older than Freeney.

Barring serious injury he'll be playing at a high level for a long time.

I think the single highlight that best describes Kampmen is the reverse play last monday night against Denver. Kampen whiffed twice on the reverse that would have netted close to a 20 yard loss but got him the third time for about an 8 yard loss...........missed tackles aside, this is a DE that ran down a receiver 3 times behind the line of scrimmage, goes to his heart and desire.

In an era where you see guys celebrate like they won the super bowl after a first down catch in the first quarter, or for blowing some guy up after an 8 yard run, its cool to celebrate a guy like AK74 who simply high fives a teammate after his third sack of the game. Congrats Kamp.

beat me to it. I was going say if you want to see what makes kampman a favorite, you just have to watch that play.
The man is all heart.
