Its probably too early to say this after a tough loss, but since I lucked out and didn't see the game, just the final score, my disappointment quickly faded.

MIN needs to win some games to give our players confidence and incentive to keep working hard, but we'll get the most bang-for-our-buck if those wins come against teams like DEN. MEM strikes me as a team that could finish the season with a record as woeful as ours, and if we have to pick up losses, its best that they are to our other lottery contenders. I believe last year we beat MEM with a last second shot by Mike Miller, and we finished one game behind them in the standings, and three spots behind in the lottery.

Right now, when people are smarting a close loss, its tough to take. However tomorrow, hopefully some of the sting will be gone.

Jawai, 8 points and 5 boards in 16 minutes. Must be something there coach Rambis like? Needs to drop some weight though. And fast.

I only got to see the 4th quater, and I must say there were two things I liked.

1) Late in the game (within the last two minutes) Al got the ball in the low block, got double teamed and passed out to a wide open Ellington on the 3 point line. Ellington missed the shot, but it was exactly the right pass for Al. It's encouraging to see Al passing in late game crunch time.

2) The Sessions/ Flynn backcourt works with one condition. The one without the ball keeps moving. When this happened it actually made the wolves offense quick and fluid. I found myself thinking "Maybe Kahn's idea could actually work". However, when the off guard didn't have the ball and wasn't moving it allowed the defense to sag off knowing that they couldn't hit the perimiter shot. Constantly slashing plays to a PG's skill set. Our guys need to forget the concept of the off guard stays on the perimeter to hit a kick back pass (mainly because our off guards cant shoot). For us, the off guard needs to be running back door screens and hard cuts to the lane.

Overall there were a couple of positives, and I am very excited to see Mr. Love return and take away minutes from Jawai and company.

That's the thing. You look at the box score and it looks like he had a respectable game. Seeing it live...He just looked like a mess. He couldn't catch any passes, fouling any chance he could, taking bad shots.

I was surprised by a few things while looking at the box score. Watching it live, it seemed like Al barely got much playing time, and Jawai had a bunch of TOs. The the boxscore says Al played 35 mins and Jawai only had one TO. I guess they gave the TOs to the passer.

Why didn't Stewie play.

Other than the fouls, how is this any different than what Jefferson did?

So, if we doubled Jawai minutes, 16 points, 10 boards, 2 to's, 0 dimes and 10 fouls ;)

Jefferson had a bad game, and has looked subpar since the injury. But we know what he is capable of doing. He took bad shots, but was double-teamed much of the night. He looked bad defensively for sure. No excuses there.

Jawai was not doubled nearly as much, missed easy passes, was often under the basket and still couldn't finish. I don't know if the game was televised or not, but the box score really doesn't seem to reflect his performance. If it was televised, I'll go back and watch it to see if it changes my opinion.

Maybe you need role players like that though, who may not look great but after the game is done have useful numbers?
