why would stern need to take a random piss test?

To see if he's moved on to any other type of drug during games. He's probably thinking there's a reason for his bizare behavior, (Jimmy Kimmel) etc, and might want to do a check on him.

Summary: he says (as many have said here) the drinking quotes were taken out of context just to sell newspapers. He intended to just show how dumb he was and how he has changed. He also says he doesn't want to fight Ben Wallace now on the street or on the court, but would like to fight him in a boxing ring after they retire. I'm sure this last part was at the urging of the lakers/publicist, etc., b/c his statements regarding Ben Wallace didn't need clarifying, he said what he said. Now he is def back-pedaling.

I love Artest, I think he's a great player, and the guy can surely fight (or so he makes it seem). But I'd gladly bet against you and take your money 10 out of 10 times. Ben Wallace could bend Ron Artest in half, and it's not like he's slow either. Guy grabbed 18 rebounds the other night.

i don't think there are any league rules prohibiting stern from being on drugs during the games.

LOLLLL Really??? I disagree with you. I know guys half Ben size that will destroy him in a street fight within a matter of minutes. Dont ever under estimate the smaller guy specially these days with so many people training in MMA.
