Get over it-Sloan for another year!

Post#1 » by Montanajazz » Thu Dec 3, 2009 5:37 am

Jerry's back for 2010-11. So Everyone get over it! We can only hope the youngs guys still get to play when Miles comes back! Hopefully some trade with Korver, Kufous, and Harpring will bring a defensive center to Utah by January! Maybe even trade Okur!! Sure hope so!

How much power does this guy got on the Miller family? I am positive he has some incriminating photos of them!!!!!! Sloan would have been fired by any other team 5 years ago. It s like Bobby Bowden in Florida State where is takes a tragic season to finally force that old geezer out.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

So tell me, how successful are those teams that fire their coaches all the time? Hmmm???

The good news is that we will have plenty of time outs left at the end of games.

The only thing that bums me out about this is that it might kill our pick. Sloan is notorious for picking character guys over guys with legit talent, guess this means we're getting cole aldrich or that euro dude. say goodbye to your hopes for favors/wall

Not really news, we all know sloan will keep coaching the jazz until he dies, then after he dies, the miller family will have him stuffed and on display permanently on the sidelines.

After the Dallas disaster I lost much of my love for Sloan but you cannot deny the fact that he is extremely successful. As long as he can keep giving this organization opportunities to win and he wants to be here he will be the coach of the Utah Jazz. I have to hand it to him and the coaching staff for handling the volatile situation created by Boozer and AK over the past couple seasons, AK has be reborn and Boozer looks like a top 3 power forward again.

I don't understand how you guys can sit here and think he will ruin the draft...I mean he must have really messed us up when we stole Brewer, Millsap, CJ and Maynor....

Oh ya, not to mention the Anthony Morrow of this season Wesley Matthews. What a disaster that has turned out to be...
Jerry Sloan >>>>>>>> Everything else.

I agree, the coaching staff has done an awesome job...paul milsap..how many teams regret passing on him? (like the entire 1st round does lol..) and matthews? An undrafted pick? Much of that credit goes towards KOC but still Sloan is part of the off season team.

One thing I do like about Sloan and Jazz organization a lot..a player doesn't decide if he wants to practice, goof around..get away with any crap off the court (ala giricheck or arroyo)...players cannot get away with any crap here, management has Sloan's back, you don't play along with the plan? You're getting nailed to the bench and you can pout and lose $$$ and get shipped off pretty soon. I bet even Kobe would be benched in our system if he wasn't playing team basketball and the Miller's would back Sloan up. A bunch of other fans on different teams want to strangle their own players for the nonsense they say and do, and most of the time when owners are faced with getting rid of a player or coach, first to go? They fire the coach. Glad it's not that way here. Even coach of the year award coaches are unemployed as we speak (which shows how much that is worth)

I like the system, Jazz are in a small market - for once they went in the luxury tax right when the economy falls to pieces and I know sloan's not perfect and I kind of gripe about not playing a few players more (Fes!) but watching some of the other coaches in the league and other boards they can't stand their coaches and respect and with they had Sloan.

It's times like this that I am reminded of how many whiners we have for fans... It will be interesting to see how many of you are still even here when Sloan retires and we might have a new coach that is bad and our teams fall apart. It is very possible.

If Jerry Sloan have to leave his coaching job with the Jazz because of any thing different than his own will to do it, or because health issues, my fan fellings for the Jazz organization would be seriuosly damaged. I'm happy to hear it every time the Jazz extend him.

I love this particular board. Its all over the place when the issue is Jerry Sloan! We Love/Hate Him! The Goods and the Bads! Old school vs. hopes of a new school Jazz Old school Keeps winning NBA Championships. San Antonio, Boston, LA Lakers! Systems with Tough D and clutch players! Maybe a healthy Jazz will become one of those teams yet this year !! Just trade for a defensive Center! You can use Harpring now!

Thankx for all the response!!!
